  • I have hunger'd after first dart and it's lasted until the seamonster died at 25 darts, solo.
  • As I approach dargon, I'm looking to adjust my artifact priorities.  Right now, I have level 2 sash and level 3 collar.  When bashing as dargon, when does incantation outpace gut?  Should I look to invest in some more strength, or will incantation serve me well enough?  I'd like to be optimal, but I can't see myself shelling out for level 2 gauntlets just for dargon.
  • lv3 sash+lv3 collar will out-DPS gut

    Thanks!
  • Could I get a list of commodity 'shops' that are outside of cities on the mainland from someone? Either here or pm is good. Would very much appreciate it!
  • If you're heavily artifacted you probably don't want to bash as dragon unless your current classes are garbage tier bashing classes or unless you really need the extra dragon tankiness. Arti-shaman will destroy dragon as far as bashing speed goes.

As it stands now, the only place I ever bash in dform is the Azdun Catacombs, because of Malvoc, Drevoc, and multi-slug rooms can still fuck me up if I'm careless and don't have a full cape.

I plan on using dragon to bash when I'm class switched to monk. I don't like having to wait an hour just to go bashing, just to risk needing to swap back!
  • Just wondering how long retiring a character takes until I can get the credits back - Ive returned after 5 years away from the game and want to start fresh.

Guessing it depends on how busy the admins are?

Could be anywhere from 24 hours when you confirm it, up to a week (rarely have I heard it take longer). On the off-chance it's longer than a few days though, a quick email to support will clear it up most likely.

I got mine within 24hrs of confirming the retirement

  • So here's a random question. The new monk artifact released is a lotus blossom ("A pink lotus blossom"), and while thinking about it, I realized that I'm unfamiliar with any actual IC association of monks with lotus flowers, as opposed to the rather obvious OOC ones.

Now, I'm not any kind of expert at Achaean lore, and so I was wondering if anyone knew of any canonical connection between lotuses and monks beyond the artifact and the old Black Lotus house. Or is this just a sort of connection that is suggested by these things, but has no origin, lore-wise? To be clear, I'm not trying to complain about the new artifact, I'm just genuinely curious what, if anything, role lotuses have within the game world.

I don't know how they relate to adventurer monks, but the Shala'jen monks' symbol is the lotus.

Also, some Tekura forms use the "lotus position":
Kali: Beginning in a lotus position, you place both palms flat on the floor.
Do-san: As you descend, you quickly assemble yourself back into a lotus position before you land.

    No-one, they're not children.

Tharos, the Announcer of Delos shouts, "It's near the end of the egghunt and I still haven't figured out how to pronounce Clean-dat-hoo."

But but... I only yell because I love :(

  • Well Kharon went black lotus to be the opposite of the Sentaari white rose. The Sentaari had the white rose as their ranks were taken line for line from the 1st edition DnD names for monk levels:

  • Do I get a discount while upgrading artefacts or only via purchasing new ones?

    [ SnB PvP Guide | Link ]

    [ Runewarden Sparring Videos | Link ]
  • @exelethril only new ones, but the credit sale going on means a discount on upgrading as well, just not as large as buying a new arte.
  • Do I get a discount while upgrading artefacts or only via purchasing new ones?
You can purchase upgrade tokens for 50cr in the artifact cart, effectively applying the discount to upgrades.
  • The artefact cart really confuses me.

Why do people buy things there instead of buying the credits and purchasing in game?

Your mentor/house/city don't benefit if you use the artefact cart.

  • @Cooper this is true.  However, it is cheaper for you if you buy from the cart directly.  Overall, however, better to purchase the credits because House/City gets some which makes up for the difference in price.  Depends on if you want to spend a bit more or not.
Deucalion says, "Torinn is quite nice."
  • The cart is usually much less of a discount than just buying credits during good promos, though.

Was testing with a new profile to debug something wrong with my normal one, and accidentally reset all my sipping and moss values on server and can't remember what they were... not really sure how to optimize this. What would be best for sip health and mana and moss for health and mana? I don't do combat, this is for hunting only so I want to prioritize sip and moss for health almost all the time.

I have: level 1 bracelets, level 1 health regen, perma moon, perma boar.
Don't have: mana regen, sip rings.

I have 7820 without runes and 8188 health with runes.
What doesn't kill you gives you exp.

@kayeil you could do all sorts of optimizations and stuff but if it is just for bashing, 95% for health (or 100-whatever percentage your average sip is), 75% for moss, and then whatever you like manawise that is below 80%. Reasoning being: moss is more expensive that health so you want to use slightly less of it, and you will be off balance from health all the time so the mana side doesn't matter. All it is really doing is costing you a little extra gold instead of letting your regen cure you with a benefit of extra safety.

Why would you have health sipping so high? If something hits you to 94.9% hp you're gonna sip and waste over half of the recovery.

Moss is fine, I'd personally put health at ~85%, maybe 90 tops. Not 95.
  • KayeilKayeil Washington State
I don't want it too low because then you heal too slow, but 95% does seem super high. I wasn't sure if there was some kind of equation that somebody knew about. I am very terrible at math. I don't mind overdoing the moss a little bit because access to that isn't an issue.
What doesn't kill you gives you exp.

  • Average sip without any sip bonuses is ~17% of maximum health. Moss/potash is 8% of maximum health. If you just want to set static values, 80% for sip, 72% for moss/potash, should be sufficient.
  • I've had my health sip at 85 since I was a wee lad. I could probably adjust since I've gotten sip arties but I dunno if it's worth
