There is a precedent of some abilities having different balance recovery times against denizens compared to players. Metamorphosis maul and venom bite are the only ones I can think of right now.

Not a question, but coming back after a long absence and not knowing the details and in and outs of all the changes makes me wish there was an OLDBIE channel.
Yeah me too. Definitely was going to make a post but will hop on here. What would be the best way to get reacquaited? I know Help guides are useful and the best, but which ones? Trying to get a foot when everythings changed is hard
  • @Cerelis I think the best thing to do is to ask people. If you're in a city/house, that's easier, but pretty much everyone I know of would be happy to help anyone who asked nicely.

Garrote gets a balance bonus from dexterity against denizens, but not players.
  • Strange question.. but what does everyone thing "a sycophantic shoulder cape" looks like? it doesn't really talk about the style so much as the colour and material, so I'm googling images and trying to decide whether to customise it to look the way I imagine it does.

  • Without seeing the description and just going by "shoulder cape", I'd say it's a cape that reaches no lower than your elbows.
  • If you already had a permanent tree tattoo, but got your hands on another phial of ink, what would be your next choice?

    Boar/Moss/Moon/Cloak/Shield, probably in that order.

  • I've been struggling with the same question. If you bash heavily or use a lot of end/will in PvP, ox or megalith can be very useful (but I don't). Never having boar fade is helpful, but with trans tattoos there are enough slots to keep an extra boar/moss as backup, so I don't have to immediately reink if it fades.

Permanent tree makes a massive difference, but everything after that is just a tiny bit of added convenience for me. I think I'll hold onto my phial until the new class is released, in case I change class and it uses a lot of end/will.
  • Tree is a must.  After that, shield will save you more than any of the rest. Megalith and moon fade the most in my opinion.
  • Shield is good, my second Arte tattoo was mindseye because I use to disconnect a lot and have to always retouch it and it was so inconvenient to keep re inking every 3-4 days.

Shield is a bad first pick because shield is 100% predictable; if you pay attention to your shield tattoo it will never surprise you.

Moss is the best pick for next permanent tattoo. You will always want one and moss fading is a fight that can legitimately kill you because losing moss cripples your ability to handle bleeding.

Ox, Megalith, Moon, boar? Meh. They're nice to have, definitely, but none of them have the impact on a fight that losing the moss does.
  • Uhhh, I fight without moss all the time and it doesn't cripple me a whit. Not having a shield because I just burned through 10 touches in the past 40 seconds though...

You can live without moss/boar. Not having a shield at a bad moment will fuck you over.

I dunno how people live without moss and hunt, that shit will kill my willpower so fast, even with a high threshold on clotting for bleed.
And I love too                                                                          Be still, my indelible friend
That love soon might end                                                         You are unbreaking
And be known in its aching                                                      Though quaking
Shown in this shaking                                                             Though crazy
Lately of my wasteland, baby                                                 That's just wasteland, baby

Thank you. This is actually exactly what I was looking for. The description doesn't actually say, so I wanted to know what people's first thoughts were when they saw it. Perfect.

Yeah, no. If you're going to use that logic, boar is more useful than moss by far, because against almost every class, your potash will make up for every bit of mana you use.

Any class that utilises bleeding / can give it consistently in good amounts will stack it up far more significantly than Moss will effect. So yeah, I agree with Cooper. Whereas regen is virtually never a bad stat to have.

It is amazing to have for hunting, though.

If you actually did this, I kind of hope you stub your toe, or get some money wet so you panic about trying to unfold it, or suffer some similar low-level malediction for being a bad person. :(

    Man, calm down, Satan.
  • Shield for sure.

    Could've been worse:
    1. Bang elbow against a hard surface,
    2. Wake up able to find only 1 of each sock,
    3. Step on a lego barefoot in the middle of the night.
    I think he was gentle.

  • Legos in the dark are definitely mid-range stuff. So much hatred.

After learning how to walk on hot coals barefoot, legos are the next step
  • Expected legos are much less scary than unexpected legos. If you want to really earn your man-badge, walk across a room in the dark with juuuust enough legos in it to pose a threat, but not enough that you know when it's coming. :(
  • I sleep on a Lego pillow and have several bricks in each of my shoes. Man up, guys.

Idk why people make such a big deal about stepping on legos. The potential to step on a scorpion in the middle of the night is real fear.
    Huh. Neat.
  • I think we found the 1-uppers!

  • What about a scorpion holding Lego?
