I built a time machine and traveled to the year 2017. Here is a combat log.

Your loyal companion, a noble hippogriff, has been slain by Mhaldork.
You will yourself to seek out the presence of Mhaldork, and see that he is in the Isle of Delos.
You tell Mhaldork, "You just killed hippy the hippogriff! NOW YOU MUST DIE."
Mhaldork tells you, "Nyah nyah. I'm already in massive gatehouse and I will be leaving the realms now. You won't have cause on me next month - so if you attack me then, I'm issuing."
You will yourself to seek out the presence of Mhaldork, and see that he is in Mhaldor.
This person has chosen to ignore you.

    -- next month --

    North of New Thera -
You see exits leading to the northwest, north, southwest, south, southeast, deliverance, Duanathar, empress, earring, and a wormhole leading to A massive gatehouse.

Mhaldork says, "Fine! We shall fight!"
You glance at Mhaldork and see that he is of the Monk class. He will do monk attacks on you!

You unleash your serpent attack on Mhaldork. He says, "Ouch."
Mhaldork hits you with a monk attack! You dodge the attack.
You unleash your serpent attack on Mhaldork. He shrugs off the effects of your serpent attack.
Mhaldork eats a healing nugget and is returned to full vitals.
Mhaldork says, "This is so boring. I win!"
Mhaldork disappears in a flash of light, teleported by the power of Gods.
You touch a portal, and your level 102 serpent ass flies up to Loom Island.
Romeo greets you with a sincere smile.
    Juliet hands you a cupcake.
Issue #4838345 has been filed against you by Mhaldork.
I feel like this could be a part of Bopalopia? Now..where are the giant-ass smileys?

I use deleteLine() it works well enough.

svo.deleteLineP() deletes not only the line, but the prompt as well. That huge spam of prompts you have? It'd get rid of that. Makes things SO much easier to parse while you're chasing balance.

Does no one seriously know about the deleteFull() thing that Mudlet already has built into it, which deletes the following prompt+any text you wanted gagged? ._.

@melodie hold breath, swing up, cast sandling, cast aerial. Next time you don't have to die!

Shield's usually the least effective method of staying alive in LoS.

Pretty sure deleteLineP has been part of svo (and some of the CLHELPs in the Mudlet clan thanks to...Lynara, maybe?) for longer than it's been built in to mudlet as deleteFull, so it's not too strange for people to think of the svo version first. That and Vadi may have (not sure here) added a bit to the svo one to handle ship prompts, which I don't think the mudlet builtin version does.
  • Yeah, that is true. The ship prompts are pretty Achaea-specfic and really require the framework of Svo to work in the deleteLineP.

No idea why I wasn't holding breath, but after the first choke I was - just all a matter of timing. Swing up/cast sandling is definitely a habit I need to get into though. RoF better than aerial!

I am working on this not dying thing, promise!

Aerial bypasses gravehands where rof doesn't? That's mean. Urgh, I suppose I better put that in an alias then.

But uh, we were all pretty busy dying and @Swadryt is still getting used to leading, nor did we have any of the core group really around, so it was expected we'd die. A lot. I just wish it wasn't three hours of dying.

I mean yeah, those MEAN FORESTALS ARGH.

  • I tried to barrier Indaba when she was getting shot the other defence, but the barrier disappears so easily when she's trying to sip health at the same time! And EQ time to cast another barrier is also long! /flaps arms

"Destroyed by dragon blast, soulspear, and truename."

They had two of three, which is why I don't really bother with barrier. :( Reflections might have helped though, if you did it quickly enough, but that's a Sylvan/Magi thing and relies on me not being a derp.

I'm 99% sure that Aerial does not bypass gravehands, though it will bypass piety. I have no idea why.

    It definitely does 100%

    North of New Thera (road).
The bright sun shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth. A polished wooden
sign is nailed to a small tree here. A ladder of long, soft leaves comprises a wispy
Weaver's Fern along the ground. A dyed blue poster bearing the title "Ty Beirdd Lottery"
has been hung here. Wings flaring, a pegasus tosses his regal head impatiently.  Hands of
rotting flesh and white bone push up from the ground. Blade Aspirant Urdaine, Sentry of
Mhaldor is here. He wields an ornate steel rapier in each hand. Nikke Azon-Sar'vet is
    here.
You see exits leading north, southeast, south, southwest, and northwest.
A wormhole is here, leading to: Before a rising slope (#9554) in Southern Old Road.

You suck in your breath, and with a mighty blast of air, exhale it while uttering a word
of magic. Suddenly, the invisible hands of an aerial grab you and fly you up into the
    skies.
Flying above North of New Thera (road).

Did that several times in a row, so yeah, confirmed.

  • Aerial is great but 90% of the time someone will just tentacle you back down. Sandling is really great, but 90% of the time you're not in the proper terrain to cast it. Good luck out there! It's a mad, mad world!

  • Here's me copying Mhaldor's ganks (not quite 10 people though):

  • I would post more Mhaldor combat logs but 5v1 logs are excessively boring.

    Boring.
  • Mycen takes a drink from a hollowed stalactite vial.
The jagged edge of a hollowed stalactite vial cuts Mycen's lips as she sips, leaving a smear of
    blood behind.

This vial is pretty neat and so is my ability to type like this. Wut.

@Mithridates : There are a lot of balanceless defenses you can keep up on starburst mode. Insomnia and kola are about the two most important ones.

Here's an epic combat log from New Achaea, where people don't actually fight. (This guy is Quisalis Mark, btw - not that it matters)
Check out my stellar entrance and smug in-character attitude as I let my presence be known by casting an icewall and greeting him! :D

Behold, what happens when you decide not to skip the bullshit formalities:

You slip away to the north and successfully evade your pursuers.
The spectator stands of the Colosseum Diabolus (indoors).
A runic totem is planted solidly in the ground. The broken fragments of a basalt altar litter the ground around the massive form of a bloodsteel stalagmite. A sigil in the shape of a small,
rectangular monolith is on the ground. Standing still as a statue, a blood steed has fixed its fiery red eyes on some movement in the distance. A powerful black stallion stands here, ethereal blue
flames rising from his body. Scampering in circles, a squirrel monkey is here. A Baalzadeen demon towers over you, filling you with dread.  Herenicus Coldraven is here.
You see a single exit leading south.

You raise your hands dramatically and summon an icewall to the south.
The corners of your mouth turn up as you grin mischievously.
You greet Herenicus with a sincere smile.

With a flourish of his arm, Herenicus bows deeply.
Tendrils of black vapour begin to whip about Herenicus.
A black wind descends upon your surroundings, immediately forming itself around the body of Herenicus. In seconds, Herenicus has vanished utterly, and only the vapour remains.
