    Yep, he's an occultist. How does the chaos orb work, by the way? I noticed he used it several times and managed to tank two other disembowels in two following duels. I don't recall if he was prone prior to using it.

    The Occultist can detonate it for a temporary damage reduction defence. I want to say it lasts 15 seconds and is worth 15% but I may not be entirely correct about some of those numbers. Usable prone, not sure what does prevent it. Asleep and stunned would, naturally, and I guess it requires balance and eq.

    Restore is useful to get out of riftlocks occasionally.  It's a bit of a lost art at the moment, but I've used it once or twice for that.

    People who restore on kai cripple, though ... I thank you for that free BBT.

    Sure, there are very situational uses where restore is potentially a viable option. Most people aren't using it for that, though. People who restore off of a prone leg break and epseth/epseth doubleslashes make it pretty trivial to bypass parry, and I thank them for it.

    Restore is definitely one of those settings in curing systems that you might even want visible in your UI and have easier to use toggles for.

    Manualling and understanding when to use it is definitely the choice alternative, but probably not one that most people will take.

    Let's start telling people to turn it off entirely, though, so I can go back to Apostate and start farming noobs with a flail.

    Yus, good point. I usually test for anti-illusion while prepping and he had it on. I don't have any salve illusions that bypass svo, so didn't bother trying.

    so SVO used my tree tattoo way early and I have no idea why, but I'm pretty sure it's why I died. I mean it tried to touch while it was on cooldown (I'm trans survival)


    Final edit: Turns out I had used to cure crippled leg and so I figured out why I touched it twice.
