The trick with Occultist is not to get Cadmus at all. A couple of tips:

You don't need blind up and you definitely don't want it prioritised over any of their afflictions.

Deafness is useful for protecting against sensitivity but it's also low priority.

Use tree if you have more than a couple of affs, that's close to being on balance if you're not slowing their offense. You will die without it.

If you get cadmus run like mad or hinder them completely for long enough to cure all affs.

@Rangor Honestly if you handle the affs properly that shouldn't be necessary 1v1.

The thing is that out of the box Svo just isn't cut out to handle occultist, so anybody using that without additions is going to have a really rough time against them.

Prep classes like monk and knight have a much easier time than momentum classes though, you can stall their offense while maintaining a lot of your progress.

I'm not sure I entirely agree with that. I guess, yeah, a prep class playing it very defensively has an easy time, but they will have an easy time against anything like that.

A fast momentum class though, especially when focusing on afflictions, can put an occultist rather well on the defensive, due to them being rather vulnerable to afflictions. If you manage to constantly threaten to kill them, they may not be able to get their own offence into full swing at all and be forced back to using hangedman.

The important part is that you don't waste time standing around and just flailing away randomly. Either slow them down, or go for the kill. It's the same as against alchemists, really.

If I remember correctly stormhammer is electric damage, so it might have something to do with Aisling being a mage and therefore almost certainly having chargeshield up.
