Roundhouse kick is amazing - especially since they just bumped up it's accuracy. I've been amazed at how fast I can prep someone, even if they're mounted. What's worse is that a lot of things could have been done better by me - didn't see there was a non-icewalled exit for me to break with jumpkick so I risked missing sweepkick but the extra axekick damage from dragon is nice anyway, I diagnosed before my axekick, like Tesha said enfeeble/axekick is awesome but I forgot to boost kai and I'm not sure I would have gotten enough kai to enfeeble in that fight even if I boosted.
@Tesha Lotus have +1 strength icon thank you very much!
You're a Sylvan, right? Sick bees on him and barrier inbetween every combo he tries to make. Prep your limbs slowly for the eclipse->heartseed combo, as barrier will force him to use telepathy to shunt you out of it, which will give you precious seconds of time to do your thing. Thornrend him with epteth to slow down his attempts to combo and basically just shield/barrier whore it out, because Monks have no way to remove shield at all w/o a barrier tattoo and a Tekura monk's attempts at telepathy are absolutely laughable for anything beyond minor hindering.
I've never even fought a Sylvan before, but having played one myself in the past, there's a lot you could have done other than just let him prep you. Sylvans are tanky powerhouses and thornrend prep is extremely fast for the most part.
So the thing about this barrier/shield spam is that it wouldn't actually help me at all. It delays both of us by almost the same amount. The fight would last longer, but it wouldn't be any more advantageous for me. Furthermore epteth thornrends have a very small chance of being useful as they either have to arrive almost at the same time that he combos, or must stack with a bees hit that lands on arms (which best case is one second in which he misses one punch). The chance of either of these happening with regularity is very small, so I'd rather just use SAP to force the occasional diagnose (unless I'm trying to slip in torso, clearly).
What're the ways that a mount will help? Blocking, dodging(tiny because no avoidance & 9 dex), mountjump, and blocking sweepkick, I think. Am I missing any?
Also, I was tumbling through an icewall. He killed me before I made it through, even after wasting time on a diagnose. @Tesha
Reflect is good, especially against people with multiple attacks on the same prompt/balance. Depending on who you're fighting, reflect/illusions can mess up their counting and make double breaks difficult. If you're dying against 15 strength on a single break, you need more health. I feel like a defensive sylvan has an easier time than almost any other class in the game and should basically never die.
@Molokini Tumbles have to be really really quick when you get double broken. There were 8 seconds between break and death, I think that is enough time to tumble.
@Tesha Not if they break you off balance. Tumble is 6 seconds with two broken limbs, thornrend is 2.7 seconds with quick-witted. Plus as he mentioned he diagnosed in between the BBT and the AXK

Oh ew, yeah. I did not realize your balance was so long! This is reminiscent of trying to deal with guarding when I was prepping for damnation. What I ended up doing was just never hitting when the monk was on balance, because they could break super easily. Same concept applies if your balance is that long. It sucks, but nothing else I can tell you. Monks are really powerful.
Tumble is 5 seconds on two limb breaks to be precise. 4 seconds initially, 0.5 seconds added per broken/mangled leg from when I last tested it a few months back.

That log makes me wonder what got me to change from Troll. I can get in several bbts/ axekicks and people just lol it off.
Bard is probably the simplest locking class. I played it before the recent voice balance buff, so it likely doesn't require as fast a rapier as it did. It's quite forgiving, as the class has on-demand access to every lock affliction through class abilities (no weak single jab gecko or hypno before impatience, etc) and balanceless force. No tunesmith balance and easy prefarar stacking means accentato makes for great melee damage. Also, it's currently very powerful in both single and group combat after classleads, even without artifacts (thank you god for tremolo in particular). Very fun class, not a steep learning curve, one of the best classes to try after the latest changes. Lacking in ranged attacks unless you have an artifact bow.
My kd suffered in raids as bard, but I believe that was more of a function of the group size we were facing as well as my being used to other classes. It is a very fun class, though.

Cue whining post about how mono should not stop raido or tents stop duanathar...
Duanathar, Duanatharan, Ride Home... Why can't I just say 'Kai Away' to be transported into a modified version of the old banish 'outside of time' place with a lamppost, some old guy, and a few spots of light, or perhaps 'Crap' to be whisked away to the nearest outhouse?

Nice trick, astralforming into Targossas to drop a monolith on my raido, will have to pick better spots with doors in the future.
Hey I offered to duel you right after, you turned it down.
