I really hate my dragon-flavour tells.

Firstly, they kill any sort of expressiveness I am normally able to convey in lesserform.
Secondly, newbies who have no idea about dragon tells get freaked out when you tell them shit 'frostily' or 'dripping with venom' etc because they think you're ticked off at them.

Can we have an option to toggle them?
The option exists, but the toggle is very broken. Like if you lesser and go back to dragon you have to config it off then back on again... kind of a pain to keep remembering.

    I think it's config moods off/on.
What doesn't kill you gives you exp.

Omg I never knew that I'll just set it up to toggle when I turn Dragon

  • I leave mine on, usually. I do try and adjust the way I talk when I'm dragon (Sarathai certainly acts a bit differently when he's a dragon versus lesserform), but I also often forget, depending on who I'm talking to.
    - (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place."
    - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely."
    - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")."
    - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish."
    - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."

  • Black isn't too bad thankfully, sometimes I lesser just to use expression in tells though. Valk is definitely a bit different in dragon than lesser, different voice in says and such too.

  • Actually IDEAd this one, cause I really really want it, but:

You submit the idea #3950 'when a vial decays or you give it away, it loses it's link with the rift.
When you buy a new vial to replace it, this is not re established. So if you run out of say, mass,
it won't refill from your full rift. I propose a set of commands in CURING to set liquid rift prios,
so if you have an empty vial available, and go to use say mass and don't have any, it will link up
the first available vial in priority order to your rift.' for review.

How about starting an island player city that's based entirely on Seafaring and ship RP? Could have pirate, trader, captain factions within it.

As for classes : pirate (obv) and maybe a class that uses guns, musketeers? Brawler could work too.

To reach it will need to take a ferry or ship etc.

I prefer my idea (because it's my idea!) of two rival cities on Meropis fighting it out. One could be based off of an attempted revival of Seleucar, while the other is PoM turned city
You know, that one thing at that one place, with that one person.

    Yea, that one!

Because our cities have such a bustling player base that we need to make new cities, especially ones that are isolated from the rest of the player base.

Now, if you have annual taxes for all the citizens of this city, something like maybe 20-30k per year and it could lower the credit market, then you have my support.
  • The perks of being part of those cities?

You get better trade deals than just hats.

I predict a huge jolt in player activity but in the form of supernoobs in said seafaring city. Would be kinda cool if to raid the city you would need a raid group to arrive via windcutter/seastrider/war galley.

Then suddenly Achaea is a game of ships and that's when the game is truly destroyed.

  • If you guys want a seafaring city... Mhaldor is pretty much the closest you can get without adding a new org. It's literally on an island surrounded by ocean. o_o

That is not an ordinary star, my son. That star is the tear of a warrior. A lost soul who has finished his battles somewhere on this planet. A pitiful soul who could not find his way to the lofty realm where the great spirit awaits us all.

From what I understand about this, it's only the recipient that the toggle works for? Unless it's been tweaked since I last experimented - what I mean is, it doesn't matter whether or not YOU have it toggled on or off, the part that counts is who's receiving the tells - the upside, however, is that if you're talking to someone who does have it toggled off, your expressiveness still goes through, even if you still only see the standard dragon voice yourself.

And yea, I was in green dragon the other day, and send a noob a harmless tell, but because of the whole "dripping with venom" thing, he called me rude :(

When I've toggled it off it turned off my dragon mood messages, but maybe it works both ways. I don't know.

  • Lol reminds me of when Meropis first came out and players were insistent it will be the location of a new city-org (Orilla), to the point they quit their current cities. Funny times.

You submit the idea #3969 'please give us an economy section for forums. Sub-topics could include economic discussion, ads, credit trades between IRE games and a "last chance bazaar" for desperate requests' for review.

At the least, it'd be a nicer way to buy/sell talismans without cluttering up the rest of the forums.

We used to have the Prosperian Bazaar, but it got axed.

  • I have a simple idea. Can we have subterfuge lightwall hit only our enemies? I just got credited for killing an 18 year old novice, after I died to Proficy. The only thing he did was walk through my lightwall. Then he died of darkshade.

Made me feel very bad Gave him 5000 gold.

I was going to say how did he get darkshade but herpy derpy derp he walked through it

that is rough, and a good idea
  • Probably one for the next round of classleads. Though maybe it's considered too good a source of contracts to change.
He is a coward who has to bring two friends as backup to jump people hunting.

  • Or maybe something as simple as unranked, new players not being affected by light/firewalls
  • edited May 2016
I wouldn't want it to only affect enemies, tbh, but not making it affect new players (unless specifically enemied) is a good idea.

Making it only affect enemies removes one of the negatives of the skill (ie, other people can use it against you) and would make serp vs serp combat about who put up the first lightwall.
  • Why not just remove the afflicting component on it, and leave the speeding up portion of it how it is, so nothing really changes with it >.>

  • The afflicting part of it is pretty nice, though. Especially in group combat where an extra aff can put more pressure on herb balances.
  • That affliction on entry/exit forces them off herb balance (or puts them behind an additional affliction), so it's actually pretty meaningful for 1v1 too. Serpent wouldn't exactly be struggling if they lost it, but aside from the occasional newbie kill, there's no reason for them to lose it.
  • But newbie kills for no reason are pretty much the last thing you want in Achaea.

I dunno. I got killed a few times as a newbie (accidental, of course) and it really drove home the differences between Achaea and most other games out there. Part of what kept me here. Plus it's like, a free two levels if they hire.
    Huh. Neat.
  • I mean, the other side of it is that they get introduced into player conflict.

Not saying it's a great thing but:

    - they get minimal xp loss (as a mob kill is worth like 5-20% depending on level)

    - they got player interaction out of it (most people would react quite the same) -- chance for them to make a friend out of it.

    - they learned something (or got taught by offender) about light walls and what cures them

So I guess I'm saying that thinking about it now, maybe everything doesn't have to be "baby proofed" in a sense? Things worked out

I've dropped quite a few newbies with lightwall.  Remembering to snuff them does wonders,  but when I forget, I generally send a tell to their city leader explaining,  rezz the newbie, and give them a hand full of ginseng with an explanation as to what transpired. Obviously I don't always get to do this, but I've never had anyone react negatively
  • It seems a bit over the top that you are required to be tri-trans in order to gain another class, yet we are given slots pretty early. In other IRE, the system is a little more fair. In one, you can switch to any class you have for a small lesson fee. In another, you are required to have at least 1 trans skill.

Could we perhaps at least reduce the requirement from 3 trans to at least 2, or even possible 1 trans and 2 fabled?

Okay is there some way we could separate the etched and non-etched tokens from Maelstrom? It slipped my mind he has both and I accidently bought 6 etched tokens (5000 per) when I wanted to buy 6 non-etched (100 per) and take the 2 mins out required to simply etch them. Could we place the non-etched in the store roughly west from his location?
