I like redwoods
but that means needing a cobalt axe to chop it down. I like redwood textured wood. But I understand how annoying it can be.
Build a Hatchet (whatever the tier 2 Tinker's axe is) with an Obsidian Head (for Reinforced 3) and Paper plate/cross/rod. It should start with...5 or 6 upgrade slots, I can't remember which. Add 3 upgrade slots (diamond + block of gold, diamond block + enchanted golden apple, nether star). Add 7 Obsidian plates to the Axe as upgrades, this will make it Reinforced 10 and it will transform to Unbreaking. The last slot(s) should all be used for redstone (mining speed).
Ta-da! Axe that 1-shots redwoods for a reasonable price and can never break.

The problem is that even if you one-shot the base Jarrod, the canopy still exists. That's what happened.

I'm not sure how exactly it glitched through the stuff. It shouldn't have touched the environment, but it fell down and took a few layers off the ground below.
I set up a restaurant not too far away from spawn. It's still in the testing stages, so it has limited stock atm. There's standing tables to sit and eat but no chairs yet.
That being said, taking suggestions on what kind of food you'll prefer to be placed in the trade-o-mats! Right now, it's bowls of rice and sandwiches.

Oh yeah, totally, and I think the truly awesome ones are done using third party level editing software, and completely custom texture packs and mods. There are also a few apps that let you essentially "convert" 3D objects or several types of terrain into minecraft maps.
My favorite are the time lapse videos of like 10 people making a huge castle though.

Here's the new modpack you'll need. I decided to drop it down to just mo creatures. I might need to do some further tweaking later, since it looked like some of the spawning was a bit off. Let me know what you guys think.

Ok so I was experimenting with a single player world and found 4 redwoods clumped together...I decided this wouldnt do I would follow @Kazu's example and nuke it...well I uh think I used a little too much Uranium and industrial grade tnt...like a stack of each. Here is what happened (sorry no before pic didn't have the insight)
Is that a shadow? Looks like the canopy is still there.
