Before I had a roof on my smeltery, a baby zombie in gold armor with Fiery Bulwark and some other crap aggro'd me from outside, ran completely around my base to the ledge that led over my smeltery, got inside then proceeded to demolish me at 100 mph for awhile

It's not an IP. If you go to the play menu, it will have singleplayer, multiplayer and realms. Click realms and you will have an invite waiting for you. Then you just join!

@Ruth that will zap any player standing within like a 4-5 block radius, including you. It also requires a good bit of power to run.

I really love Realms, I wish they would have started that service much earlier in the minecraft lifetime.
I'm glad more people are joining. I'm on all the time (mushuninja) - get at me if you want some starter stuff, I'm hoarding pretty ridiculous amounts of resources atm. (except diamond. never ask for diamond T_T)
If you just want to keep mobs away, I'd suggest looking into Warding stones and Corporeal Attractors. You can effectively block mobs from coming into your house from the outside with a single Corporeal Attractor (will keep mobs 7 blocks away from it at max power, bury under the door for prevention) or Warding stones across the entrance. If you don't have either researched, Warding is much easier to reach, I think it requires very very little pre-research, not sure which pages it's on without logging in.

Creeper blew up my front door with the warding stone. I had the fortune of a sticky 1UP fire throwing zombie showing up at my doorsteps after.
I got booted from my vanilla server. He wanted to make room for a Youtuber. I guess that's ok, though. Anyone need another server member?
@Tohran ours runs on 1.6.4 with a bunch of mods, the Realms one runs on latest minecraft but vanilla, so up to you which one you want to play!

Just gonna say this once... FUCK heatscar spiders. Bastard launched me off the bridge with my nice, new shiny runic armor while I was on my way back home. Just skipping along the path, and boom! This fuck slams me so hard I'm launched off the side of a guardless bridge in the Nether. (I didn't build it). I fall into a bigass pit of lava, can't swim out and at least die in a safe point where I can get my shit back. Noooo. This bastard plunges my ass into the Atlantic of the Nether. Will I ever see my things again? Who knows!
