"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to? You will never find that [everlasting] life for which you are looking. When the gods created man they allotted to him death, but life they retained in their own keeping. As for you, Gilgamesh, fill your belly with good things; day and night, night and day, dance and be merry, feast and rejoice. Let your clothes be fresh, bathe yourself in water, cherish the little child that holds your hand, and make your wife happy in your embrace; for this too is the lot of man."
I went strip mining yesterday, in my mine. Made them at bedrock, level 12 and level 16. Had tons of fun mining for iron, gold and red stone. Still have yet to see diamonds though. :C
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"
Well, due to a bit of limited features such as teleporting and residences, and a general inconsistency with uptime due to the attacks, I'll be playing on WoodenAxe a majority of my time in MC. Pretty awesome server, if you find yourself heading that way to apply sometime be sure to mention my name for a good seat. People are pretty helpful.
So I haven't played Minecraft in a couple of weeks, and I just got the itch to play today. Made myself a starter world, and here is my little shack so far. Disregard the dirt. That's just a placeholder until I can get some redstone to make myself a fancy piston type door.
This is on my single player snapshot world. I don't play Mineachaea anymore because people want the ability toprotect areas and teleport (not instantly) via the Residence Plugin, which I don't play.
I don't like teleport plugins, and I know I'm in the minority. That's why I don't play Mineachaea any more. You guys can ask Jhaeli to put them in all you want. I don't even really like the spawn and home ones we have now, but I can live with those.
I like the spawn and home ones... mostly because I'm terrible at direction and get lost easily. Outside of those, not really in favour of teleportation. Make roads, civilize the world, rails.
Home/spawn recall is fine, though.

I'm personally much more comfortable staying in my own build area if someone asks me to come check out their build and it's going to take me 30 mins or so to get there, during which I have to survive a night literally filled with mobs. Dying when I almost get there, and trying to run through the same gauntlet within five minutes to get my stuff back....nothing about that is enticing to me. Not that I really care either way, I'm not on there anymore, just wanted to clarify what some of us were suggesting and asking about, which seemed to cause Kazu to leave. It is what it is, I'm on WoodenAxe now.
Anyone can come and go as they like, for whatever reason they'd like. And you're welcome to come back when and if you desire to.
To be blunt, there isn't much I can do about the attacks, aside from messaging Fragnet about them. I'm also not around regularly enough to know when they hit. (To be blunt, the only reason I'm an admin is because I have a PayPal account that can facilitate the donations, not because of my Minecraft server skills. Volunteers to take over are very welcome.) Unless it knocks our server off again, I'm not really sure what to do about them.
On teleportation - as far as I know, it hadn't really come up in a serious way before. At least not that I knew of. The last time we discussed plugins (in this thread), the majority wanted them slimmed down. So that's what we did. (We got rid of that RPG plugin thingy, etc.) There were fewer regulars then. If the majority would like to add something new in, like a teleportation plugin, then we can discuss that. One of the problems with adding in plugins is that I don't know enough to really customise them to our server - @Kazu has been doing all of that. So I'll need a bit of help with the coding for a new plugin, if it needs customising. (Installation is easy.)
ETA: Actually, to build on a particular point - we have enough in donations to cover the next bill (which will be in December, I think), but I won't be accepting any more donations for after that date. I just don't have the time to commit to the server, which isn't fair. So again, if there's someone who is interested in being a fair administrator for the server and is able to collect donations, you'll be wanted after December. (I'd also be willing to work out an arrangement that simply sees me paying the bill every three months, but that isn't ideal.)

Kazu does this every couple of months, don't worry about it. He'll get bored and come back at some point. He always does.
A frenzied cleric screams, "Like more than one halo!"

Cascades of quicksilver light streak across the firmament as the celestial voice of Ourania intones, "Oh Jarrod..."
