Am I the only one thrilled to actually see her hand? That she's not some collective figment of our imaginations or a super-complex ai that enjoys harvesting?

A hand doesn't exactly disprove these things. It could just be her programmer's hand, after all.
I can barely tie my shoes in the morning. I don't know how you can make such fine and detailed cuts. This legit blows my mind.
Weeeelll. Now that @Karai and @Nim have blown my cover as an AI, I feel obliged to 'fess up regarding how I practice my cutting skills. Here:
Seriously though, it's all mostly in repeated practice (and a healthy dose of patience or spare time)! I find it easier because it's very relaxing and I can easily tune out the rest of my environment or any other worries while I'm concentrating. In essence, the more detailed it is, the more concentration it requires, and the more calming it is. That being said, I am still horrifically uncoordinated when it comes to everyday simple tasks.... like using scissors to cut in a relatively straight line, for example.
I agree. Cirana has been so very kind to provide me a mini-tutorial on papercutting as I've been bewitched by it myself. I must try this. I have so many ideas and the urge to...CUT.
I would love to try my hand at this because the whole concept of creating stunning art from what essentially is just holes in paper never fails to blow my mind, but I think I'd just end up with myself being rushed to ER for finger reattachment instead.
Here is WIP #2 of Nicaara, al naturale. I just need to detail some parts, and add some spots/markings now. Maybe I'll paint her with clothes next time.
...So begins the class for people who like to cut things; not to be confused with the class for aspiring illegal surgeons. (Though technically they may cross paths if anyone needs fingers reattached!)
That being said, I'm happy to make up some quick outlines and tutorials if people are interested in giving it a go. It's a little fiddly to start with and takes a bit of practice, but it's a lot of fun once you're more confident with your blade! It's also very highly unlikely that you'll end up slicing yourself, unless you put your fingers directly in the path of where you're cutting, or if you're a derp like me (I have this uncomfortable habit of absentmindedly placing scalpels on the table, and then just as absentmindedly putting my hand down right on top of it a few minutes later...)
I once reached backwards into a trey of xactos and pens for a pen only to have a friend of mine think I was going for his phone and also reach back and squeeze my hand closed as tightly as he could. So y'know stitches.
Be careful with any sharp tool. Blood is supposed to be inside you.

Bwaaaah finally done. I kinda like it better before I got all crazy with the burn and dodge tools and the bad spots and got tired of painting it. But whatever, I'll start a new one. With clothes.
I need to make my own thread if I want to keep posting wips, I think :<
I didn't actually want to show this off because this is going to get @Cirana flooded with requests (as if she wasn't already) for sure, but honestly she deserves all the publicity she gets and the least I can do is give further proof that she is awesome!
The below was a special request from me for a character from a book that my best friend read, and which Cirana happened to also have read. I know absolutely nothing about this character so left it up to her completely beyond asking for a signature of the name - and she cut out a whole quote from the book. That honestly is the highlight of this piece for me - I can't even WRITE like that, never mind CUT OUT HANDWRITING like that.
For the curious, it says: "My name is Celaena Sardothien," she whispered, "and I will not be afraid." - Sarah J. Maas
Her attention to detail is also incredible - she researched the character thoroughly and even took note of the most minute detail. In italics is her message to me explaining some of the things she did:
Eyes: The main character's eyes are apparently some shade of blue with gold rims I've lined her eyes here in metallic gold so they look blue when you see her front-on, but go a bit glowy if you see them in the light)
I have no more unused hyperbolic vocabulary to use for Cirana's skills and it's all self evident anyway so...I shall leave you with my fervent endorsement and a hearty 'you da (wo)man'!

And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
@Jurixe: Yay, I'm glad you like it, and hopefully your friend will as well!
Also, confession right here:
While I do on occasion do my own lettering, for the vast majority of character-cut names, I tend to use a particular font and adapt it a little (with permission from the author) so everything is connected with thicker lines and small add-ons that make it more 'cuttable.' It just means that the lettering is much more uniform, spacing/style-wise, because I don't particularly trust myself (skill and patience-wise) when it comes to doing very careful customised lettering.
P.S That lovely font is called 'Jellyka Delicious Cake!'

Still a witch (but still covet those sweet, sweet paper skills).

Don't create characters with braids, you'll end up slowly hating yourself.
