I've been experimenting somewhat extensively as to what I can and can't do (with some rather costly mistakes, unfortunately). I've suggested a few ideas, but for the most part at the moment functionality is quite basic for my purposes. That being said, it has a lot of potential!

I keep saying it over multiple threads but I've always thought that subdivision housing has such excellent potential for roleplay and has been severely underused due to its present limitations. You can customise the setting completely to your own tastes, put in furniture and other items of your choice - and even have it created if you have the credits and it doesn't exist. You can have secret exits, different environments, and so much more.

It's not currently as secure as a ship, which I guess would be the primary practical concern, but the writer in me is enticed by the sheer degree of customisation that it offers in terms of setting and the vast potential it has. The housing upgrades and the servant additions have been amazing - look at how many people are buying houses and getting servants. @Carmain is doing a really funny thing with his servants in his out of subs houses, which is going to frustrate some poor newbie someday. It adds a whole new dimension of roleplay in that avenue, which I absolutely love.

Everyone has a vested interest in a different aspect of Achaea and there are only so many admins to focus on different things, but I think I'll always be trying to champion expansions to the housing system because of what you can do with it. I've spent more credits than I care to mention on my house, which some people see as 'useless' because it isn't something that's immediately useful like an artefact, but I have no regrets. One of the best parts about housing is that it can be used by as many people as you want to allow, so it's like setting up a stage for a bunch of performers. It can be a monument to its owner long after the owner is gone, just by looking at the descriptions of the rooms and the items (if non decay) inside the rooms. I don't know why I really want more people to get into housing - I guess I just really love seeing the creativity of people and what they can come up with.

I have no idea how this got so long, but there's my 2 cents on the whole thing! I guess this is a rave because I love housing.

@Jurixe: Well, the housing servants addition was one of the main draws that finally convinced me to start my own meditation dojo/house/secret base or something similar.

And please ignore rumors that I am going to use my new subdivision property as a base for converting Mhaldor's succubi to Good by way of self-actualization, meditation and koan recitations.THIS INFORMATION REQUIRES ORANGE-LEVEL ACCESS
