I have to agreed, big thanks to @Valnurana for her help lately! Much appreciated!
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to? You will never find that [everlasting] life for which you are looking. When the gods created man they allotted to him death, but life they retained in their own keeping. As for you, Gilgamesh, fill your belly with good things; day and night, night and day, dance and be merry, feast and rejoice. Let your clothes be fresh, bathe yourself in water, cherish the little child that holds your hand, and make your wife happy in your embrace; for this too is the lot of man."
Um, @Aoghinius for being one of the best text grandkids that Ayleth could have. Thank you for constantly cheering her up when no one else would~.
@Eiredhel, @Lacertix, @Zekk, @Valkyre, and so many more for being awesome house mates and constantly striving to make the house better; even in the extremely small ways. It's the positive thoughts and actions that count more than anything. @Dairune, for pudding and a lot of other IC stuff.

Now it is time for you to fill up your rift as full as you can get it. Then fill up your citymates rifts so that if there is ever a MC issue you have lots of crystals.

@Valnurana rocks. Many thanks to Her and also to @Darktalon and @Ashavarti for being amazing siblings of the Dream, who always have my back (or the courage to stop the wings there from ruffling too many feathers).
Happy to be useful, @Bluef (I am guess I am part of having your back, ruffling feathers I tend to encourage hehe!) Always there if you need.
Over the past few months I've tried several different class race combos in various cities.
Thank you to @Havyn and @Ada from Targossas. Both were very helpful to fledglings in the city. Sorry to see they are no longer involved or don't have the time, the newbies will miss you.
Thanks to @Vayne and @Narida for working hard to build up the Alchemist class. No other class has people working so hard to make newbies feel wanted.
A very special thanks to @Aoghinius for showing a newb that even a basic city introduction lecture can contain emotes and extensive roleplay. I didn't even know that Achaea had the emote command until that ritual.
Thanks to Hashan for organizing hunts and specifically asking newbs to join. I only died once, but that one hunt was epic.
We're pleased to announce that we've brought in another full-time paid staff member today - Mortori.
He's been with Iron Realms for over a decade, first as a player, then as a key person and paid staff member on Imperian for many years. Those of you with some age on you may remember him here as Aringar, who was the first player to achieve Dragonhood.
Mortori is both a coder and system designer, and we're going to have him start by working on some additions/changes to player vs. NPC combat.
@Ayleth, @Eiredhel, and @Lacertix- you guys have literally made this the best return I have ever had in my 12ish years of playing Achaea. Thank you all for being so friendly, awesome, and all-around fun to be around.
Oh, and @Zekk, duh. 12 Years, man. For all our bitterness, fights, disagreements, despair, and general moodiness- ain't nobody I'd trust more to make the game fun and interesting for more than just themselves.
Sometimes it's still hard for me to gather the courage to completely delve into roleplay when first meeting someone, but I'm finding that when I force myself to do it, it's always moments I won't forget in Achaea.
Also, the past real life week or so has been pretty big for me in Achaea. I achieved Dragonhood. I won the Fury of Truths competition in Mhaldor and received a trophy from Big S. ( @Sartan ) I also just purchased my very first ship, and gained my very first protege.
What are the details of the group hunting changes? I haven't seen them announced anywhere, I've only heard players talking vaguely about how it's better now.
All I know is that group hunting is more desirable now and encourages fellowship rather than being all worried that because you are hunting with even one person, that your experience gain is seriously being docked as each kill is split between the group members. I dont know what they changed. But I know I too am raving about this as I am having a lot more fun hunting now that I dont feel handicapped. Maybe @Sarapis or @Tecton would be willing to tell us what changed.

Ok, I actually thought I was going insane when I was getting much less exp hunting alone. I am glad to know there is a reason! Was making no sense to me.
At a guess, they removed the split from being in a group, so everyone gets full experience from the kill.
My own rave: Goddamnit @Terra. I don't know whether it was a lucky guess, me overplaying my hand, or just a natural way our characters interact, but I enjoyed it. I need to work on not being so slow and silent, too, although at least twice you had me wondering what Kei would say to that.
P.S. @Oren I still owe you a proper rematch with non broken aliases. I sry.
Bydar, a garish-looking trader says, "I'm not a man, I'm an experience."
We didn't intentionally change anything with xp payout, but we redid the way groups work behind the scenes recently (the old code was horrible and spaghetti-esque and full of recursion), which may have unintentionally changed xp payouts in groups, as it's possible group xp was being sub-divided too much previously.
Are some of you saying you're getting more xp for a single kill when hunting with a friend/friends than when solo?
We just ran some tests and things are working properly....which may mean that there was an increase in xp payout for group bashing, depending on if we accidentally fixed a bug(s) in the system while redoing grouping.
Ah hah, and we did find a bug that could matter - the bonuses for Iron Elite status were being applied before xp was split up, so everybody was benefiting whether they're Elite or not.

TohranEverywhere you don't want to be. I'm the anti-Visa!
@Sarapis talked in UUC clan earlier, AND I'm getting a shop with @Azera today! YAY!!!!

Love the little things that are bringing me more into the game:
- Text family! I you guys. You're all swell, especially when we go out hunting together and I keep getting eaten by a big ass cloud serpent with an apparent vendetta against me. That was legit fantastic.
- I've been enemied to an organization! It felt wrong to play an antagonistic, Evil character without being on Good's formal "You Suck" list. Like if Movie!Voldemort suddenly grew a nose. Or Sauron was no longer a flaming eyeball. But now? You hate me! You really hate me! [happy tear] Thank you, Targossas! I hope to be (IC) a bloody thorn in your bloody side for awhile.
- Went hunting waaaaay out of my league and got walloped.....escaped with 94 health. [insert fist pumping toddler meme]
- Getting involved in the Event as much as I can without going to the Tundra or Dragonville to die horribly.
- So, Team Red hated the wyverns and boat thing, while Team Blue hates the killing-your-own-guardian thing (and I can totally see both sides, here), but I've spent this entire Event as Chris Farley: "Hey, remember that time when we went to the Outpost, and we killed a bunch of wyverns and mercenaries, and I died to Brock, but then the next time I landed a killing hit on Brock and I went up, like, 10 levels just from hunting there? D'you remember that?" "...yeah..." "That was awesome."

I got a full level just following @Jhui around in Dragonville.
Led a group in the outpost and no one died! Yaaaay! No mistakes! Also rave to newbies Mel, @Styxx and Tashlur. You guys are tough and I love it! Will make fine warriors one day!
Rave for @Eleison for being a good buddy and always being an awesome leader for the ourpost clearings. Rave for all of Targossas that is working their asses off to get facets.
Rave for all those encouraging people who help me continue in combat and not get so down on myself. @Talysin , @Aeden ( @Aedin?) , @Aelios , and @Davio . Whoever else I missed. You guys are more help than you can imagine.
That feeling when you're out of combat for ages, take you first tentative steps back in, and it starts coming back to you, bit by bit. I'm looking forward to this

I'm on the 'having a blast' side of the event, too, really enjoying it; thank you, Upstairs!
Also thanks @Jhui ce for helping me fully realize my supernoob potential and giving me my fav CF of all time

A new full-time person on Achaea

Welcome back, Mortori!
These group hunting changes. I now have a reason to hunt again!
Sometimes it's still hard for me to gather the courage to completely delve into roleplay when first meeting someone, but I'm finding that when I force myself to do it, it's always moments I won't forget in Achaea.
@Alynna, you've been such a treat to meet!
Also, the past real life week or so has been pretty big for me in Achaea. I achieved Dragonhood. I won the Fury of Truths competition in Mhaldor and received a trophy from Big S. ( @Sartan ) I also just purchased my very first ship, and gained my very first protege.

Can you just, erm... unfind that bug for me?
@Ainia yeah. The bonus is now applied to your share of the xp rather than the whole pool of xp that the group splits up.
