Paragon contest

For the creatively and/or combatively inclined among you, we'll be running a contest from now until the 12th of July!

Submit your paragon ideas here. Come the 12th, we will pick our top three from the submissions and they'll be implemented for public use. Additionally, the one who submitted the idea shall receive their paragon for free! Of course, first come first served: if someone else submits an idea before you, that's the submission we'll be taking.

The paragons can be as major or minor as you like, but of course we'll only be implementing things we feel will not adversely impact Achaea, so take that into consideration when coming up with your devilishly clever ideas.

    Increased xp gain.

    Increased battlerage gain.

    Increased gold drops (lol).

    Health/mana/endurance/willpower regeneration.

Increased resistance to ALL damage ~2.5%

Buckawn effect that dodges ropes too.

+50 to all stats if you're Mhaldorian.

    Reduced essence/devotion/karma costs.

  • AhmetAhmet Wherever I wanna be
    • Paragon that converts % of damage taken to mana.
    • Paragon that converts % of damage taken to willpower.
    • Paragon that rebounds a flat percent of damage taken (pvp only? pve only? 3%?)
    Huh. Neat.
  • Maybe one that grants an effect similar to deathcape although on a much smaller scale to make sure deathcape isn't cheapened by this.

Give a buckawn's effect but only against denizens this time.
  • Paragon that lets you absorb a % of the damage your party/group/allies take in the room (only for pve, though, would be broken in pvp).
  • KresslackKresslack Florida, United States
First thing that comes to mind are the following paragons which provide the same benefits as jera, berkana, and agliz. Can maybe even be made into the Runic Rondel as well as offered individually.

  • AhmetAhmet Wherever I wanna be
    • Paragon for +1 in a stat, exclusive with itself and the rest of the +1stat paragons (i.e. no +dex AND +str, just one or the other)
    • Paragon that slows the decay of armour
    • Paragon that slows the decay of items carried in the armour (treated like bag of stasis, goes hand-in-hand with cupreous paragon)
    Huh. Neat.
  • AhmetAhmet Wherever I wanna be
    • serpent's paragon: increases chance to dodge attacks
    • soothing paragon: denizens loyal to villages you are hated with (not always-aggressive denizens) will not attack you unless you attack first
    • identifying paragon: paragon that clearly marks your identity for your loyals, preventing them from attacking you when afflicted with disloyalty (you will still be unable to order them effectively until cured)
    Huh. Neat.

Paragon that works similar to the current shield paragon with the following twist: for costs similar to current customisations (or for free if the Garden feels generous?) the owner can customise what they and others see when the shielding effect takes place. Perhaps even allow for different types of attacks depending on how easy / possible / feasible this may be.

    E.G.

    @Verrucht does this: "KICK JAMETHIEL"

Jamethiel sees, assuming that the attack was completely deflected/absorbed:

"Verrucht kicks you but in a resplendent spray of Erisian rainbows the attack is deflected."

    Others might see:

"Verrucht kicks Jamethiel but in a resplendent spray of Erisian rainbows his attack is deflected."

The effect would be entirely cosmetic apart from the shield benefit; however it is possible that some may like or desire the message(s) to be customisable.

I'm sure others would think of more interesting effects than "a resplendent spray of Erisian rainbows."

-Paragon that offers a particular protection against a specific village/type of denizen. Specialised hunter sort of thing

-On a similar note, a paragon that lessens the damage you take from sea monsters.

-a paragon that lets you hide your armour, like that one artefact mostly no one has, but on a miniature version

-A paragon that deflects some small measure of the damage taken and converts it into endurance/willpower loss instead.

And you won't understand the cause of your grief...

...But you'll always follow the voices beneath.

My previous ideas when I suggested artefact armour have various addons available instead of improved stats (excluding the ones already suggested and the ones that already exist):
    • Armour runes last longer, or don't fade at all.
    • Improved cleanliness. Stinkiness effects wear off naturally after a short time, without needing to find water and scrub. Alternatively, greatly reduced balance cost for scrubbing the stench off. There's already a Shop of Wonders artefact that ensures the first scrub is successful.
    • Make any attacks that bounce off your magical shield heal you for a small portion of the damage that would have been dealt. Or just a small static amount of healing if it can't easily be based on damage that wasn't dealt.
    • The ability to have a tattoo inked on the armour, giving you an extra tattoo slot.
    • An addon that does different things depending on the current weather. Movement bonuses in the rain; the heaviest storms give +1 move per second, lighter rain gives a small chance for each move to not count towards the limit. Improved damage against denizens when it's sunny. Improved defence against denizens when it's cloudy or dark. Dodging bonus in snow (the heavier the snow, the higher the bonus). No bonus if you're indoors. Really, this is just an excuse to suggest tying things into the weather system.
    • A chance to shrug/ignore denizen afflictions (ignoring player-owned denizens).
    • The armour builds up charges when struck, and when those charges reach a certain point you can spend them for some effect. Maybe each damage type adds a different charge (so there would be a cutting charge, a fire charge, etc.), and the charge can be spent for brief resistance to that damage type, so after taking a lot of cutting damage for example, you gain the ability to activate some cutting resistance for a short time. Or maybe just one charge that's built up from any type of damage, and you can spend it for some healing or regeneration (maybe of endurance or willpower rather than health). Or you can spend the charges to absorb a portion of the damage dealt to any allies in the room (reducing the damage they take) for a short time. Or lots of other things. For some effects, the charges would probably need to decay over time, while for others it would be fine to be able to hold them indefinitely.
  • AhmetAhmet Wherever I wanna be
    • diamond paragon: small percentage of damage taken from denizens converted to devotion
    • ruby paragon: small percentage of damage taken from denizens converted to necromantic essence
    • opalescent paragon: small percentage of damage taken from denizens converted to karma
Or the three paragons above for small returns when you kill denizens, instead of when you take damage
    • Paragon that returns a significant portion of health to you upon killing an enemy (pvp only)
    • Paragon that returns a significant portion of mana to you upon killing an enemy (pvp only)
    • Paragon that serves as a personal monolith, extending the length of prism attempts upon your person and preventing portals and gates
    Huh. Neat.
  • AhmetAhmet Wherever I wanna be
Paragon that increases battlerage generation by a flat percentage, or generates battlerage as you take damage from denizens.
    Huh. Neat.
  • Paragon that causes denizens to prioritize the wearer when a group enters a room.

Paragons to increase armor stats by a set amount (e.g. +10/10, +20/20).
  • -A Paragon that allows you to see Evade, who and which direction they went.
-A Paragon that displays hidden rooms and exits
-A Paragon that keeps aggressive denziens from assaulting you, even if your an enemy of the area (most denziens, as some must)
  • -Paragon that enables you to breathe underwater.
-Paragon that restores health while in a water environment, similar to the Grook ability.
-Paragon that acts similar to mindnet, informing you of any non-veiled individual that enters the area.
  • AhmetAhmet Wherever I wanna be
Paragon that serves as a starburst defence, with a significant cooldown (6 hours? 24 hours?)
    Huh. Neat.
  • JamethielJamethiel Adelaide
A paragon that like the worrystone is unpredictable: it can be ANY type of paragon in existence and upon touching it (maybe limited to once per RL day or once per Achaean hour or something) it will change to some random paragon apart from itself. Perhaps it changes type every Achaean year (so that it's not just something you keep touching until you get a paragon you want).
  • a rebounding paragon - Decrease the time it takes for rebounding to come up.

a adhesive paragon - Decrease the time it takes for sileris to come up.

a numbing paragon - Instead of your shield tattoo functioning, enable a miniature numb effect (like kaido numb).

a warping paragon - Make this armour appear like a different set (like scalemail -> fullplate, for confusing people with regards to what class you are - good for @Antonius).

a talisman paragon - increases the chance of getting a talisman piece by 10%.

a diamond paragon - when joined with fuscous and vinaceous paragons (blunt/cutting), amplify their effects by 50% (so from 5% to 7.5%).

a crystal paragon - when joined with two of any of the other damage resistance paragons that aren't blunt/cutting, amplify their effects by 50%.

a jousting paragon - PULL ARMOUR - retrieve seven customized lances (for Delosian jousting) from your armour (like pulling spikes out of it, because awesome). Cooldown of X minutes.

a captain's paragon - increases the chance of getting figurehead energy by 10% per movement (is there a ship aggression timer? If so, only if that's down).

a deadly paragon - any (non-guard, non-honors, non-boss) denizen that hits you has a 1% chance of instantly dying.

a blazing paragon - TOUCH ARMOUR to destroy any blizzard effect in your room (and adjacent rooms?).

a slightly less hot blazing paragon - STRIKE ARMOUR to create a fire in your room that functions as a campfire is customized to be not a campfire. Like a lantern or something.

another crystal paragon - 10% chance of getting a free duplicate crystal when refining from a Master Crystal

A paragon that completely annulled the effect of the 'stink' affliction. I have no idea who'd be crazy enough to buy it but this is one affliction that I don't like (and it could be called the SOAP paragon).

  • AhmetAhmet Wherever I wanna be
Paragon (24hour cd?) that allows you to TOUCH it for a shin phoenix-like effect.

Paragon that functions essentially the same as vitality (pve only?).
    Huh. Neat.
