You're hot, then you're cold

Song lyrics aside, the warmth system is pretty neat!

Though, I have a few ideas for how it could be improved for our fuzzy compatriots!

Rajamalan's should, easily, get an extra level or two of 'warmth' compared to their furless friends.  Satyrs?  Same schtick, except not nearly as much.  I wanna run around in only my kilt like I always have.  Maybe Xorani could get a level of uncovered if they're cold blooded (I'm not real sure if they actually are or not.. but they breath fire.. so maybe they should be warmer?)

Just in general, tweak levels of warmth based on races to be slightly more 'realistic' if we're going for that.  Oh, and being a Wyvern/Dragon who can breathe fire should make you totes warm enough for the arctic tundra.

Totes.

Any other suggestions are cool to put here.

I just want to see tornadoes already.

That said, it would make sense for Rajamala to suffer more ill effects from warm weather and less from cold. The reverse for Xorani.

    Satyr I'm more iffy about.

There are no cold-blooded player races. If there were, then clothes wouldn't help much for keeping them warm.

While true, Xorani are known for a weakness to cold/resistance to fire.

You got your wish with Weathering. You can run around naked for all you want and still get "Beads of sweat drip down your face, blurring your vision."

It's just like living in Darwin or Florida with 98% humidity and no a/c. Whee.

Does the "too hot" messages override area emotes? Because I want to hear my cities noise (or lack of it!)
You know, that one thing at that one place, with that one person.

    Yea, that one!

You're the one saying your clothes are preventing you from enjoying the city!

Kind of worries me, to be honest.

Anybody know if dragonform provides any consistent changes in your warmth level? Or is it still reliant on the clothes you're wearing, even if they can't actually be seen while dragonformed?

It'd be weird for a red dragon to be walking around with summoned breath and burning people to ash with fire, while at the same time feeling cold.
    - (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place."
    - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely."
    - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")."
    - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish."
    - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."

Reliant on clothes, from my limited testing.

Re: red dragon. If you would stop throwing all your body heat at people in condensed bursts, you might be warmer!

I can't figure out how hot my grove is in the middle of the summer. :(

The weather is imperceptible from here.

Right outside it's like.  70.. with 26 MPH winds.

Cyrene is 70 with 17 MPH winds.

My grove is literally colder than Cyrene... And right outside of Cyrene it's 130 with like. 7 MPH winds.  Heck, all the way to Jaru and into the hills by Jaru were ridiculously hot.  130 F is death.  It is DEATH PEOPLE.  This is mid-summer :(

Edit:  The air temperature around you is measured at 75 F.

The apparent temperature is at a steady 75 F.

The relative humidity is at 2%.

The winds around you blow to the northeast at 59 mph.

    GOOD LORD PLAINS.  GOOD LORD

Beware the implementation of weather effects, I say. Beware!

Lusternia has a wide range of horrendously inconvenient effects based on the weather, ranging from slowed movement speed to being consistently, passively afflicted with shivering.

Part of me appreciates the immersion. But it's really frackin' annoying.
I have 150 Lusternian credits that I'll trade over for Achaean ones. Let me know if you're interested!

Does Caloric defense provide extra warmth as per the defence line, "A feeling of comfortable warmth spreads over you."? Also being sweaty for a lengthy period of time should give us the stink affliction. ;)

Dunno Praxides, but I just got slammed by tornado force winds near Harae and snapped my left arm and left leg splatting into the water from flying :(

Weathering already increases how warmly you're dressed, not sure we need to add armour on top of that. In regards to mechanical effects, I really don't want to have to factor in the weather as part of combat.

campfires also seem to influence it, damn @Kaila making me get heatstrokes.
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!"
Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh."
Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."

I just want to know why 90 degree weather is making me sweat and bow in heat with just pants/shirt/trenchcoat on.

I'm perfectly fine in that weather, and Trevize is a Xoran to boot.

Don't worry.  I'm wearing nothing but a kilt in 90-130 weather in Achaea and I'm panting, sweating all over the place, and practically dying from the heat for some odd reason that Achaea apparently NEVER has cloud coverage.

    Warmth  : under-dressed

The air temperature around you is measured at 100 F.
The apparent temperature is at a steady 100 F.
The relative humidity is at 28%.
The winds around you blow to the north at 8 mph.

Beads of sweat drip down your face, blurring your vision.
The heat beats relentlessly against you, straining your movements.

    Yep, definitely under-dressed!

Right now the SCORE warmth is just how you're dressed by some objective standard, not by what the weather actually is at the moment. Would be nice if it could be changed to reflect how comfortable you're actually are.

It seems a little strict. That type of heat isn't overwhelming dressed normally, let alone 'under dressed.'
