    Just wanted to post this real quick for anyone else that is running Windows 10 with an nVIDIA card, seems most of us are having issues with Ark crashing our video drivers. Here is a quick fix that works brilliantly (sorry for the spam, couldn't figure out how to do the spoiler thing):

    1) Go to steam, locate Ark in your library, right click it and click on properties.
    2) Click on "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS..."
    3) Copy and paste the following into the box that opens then click OK: -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -sm4 -d3d10 -nomansky -lowmemory -novsync

    Now start Ark in regular mode, don't use low memory or anything. What this does is force Ark to use all of your CPU cores, use a different shader model (definitely changes graphics, but doesn't make it look bad or anything), forces use of DX10, disables a lot of the sky effects since most of the crashes come when the game is rendering and the sky in Ark is just brutal. Then of course this forces launch in low memory mode (which is why you want to run the game normally) and turns off vsync.  It worked for me, hope it can help someone else out too!

    Server is up and running again with the new mods/map. No password but if you want to be whitelisted, PM me your steam ID.

    The Volcano map is roughly 2GB and Extinction Core is 1.6GB, so you will definitely have to either pre-subscribe and let them install or you will have to join the server several times while they download. There's nothing I can do about the connection timeout, unfortunately.


    Actually, the Logicservers control panel is giving me some issues in regards to the password. Should be fixed in a few minutes.

    I keep getting "Please make sure the server you are attempting to join is running the latest version of all mod content." then it will say something about Joining Failed, Connection Timed Out

    Was having problems with the Death Recovery Mod. It was refusing to update and then halfway through the restart, Structures+ updated. The sequence of events was:


    Install DRM. invalid version. Uninstall DRM. Manually import DRM. S+ update. Invalid version. Wtf. Check updates. See S+ needs update. Update S+. Everything is good now.

    I just wanted to put some life back into this thread and see if we can't get more playing. If you have Ark and want to join up, I will be more than willing to give people a place to start and some equipment and dinos to get into the game. Just hit me up!

    EDIT: I have Wyverns I can part with! :D

    Ok, I'm going to be away for the next week and a half. If something major goes wrong and your computers start to explode, send me an email (disturbed981@gmail.com)  and I should get back to you within an hour (unless I'm sitting out in the middle of the ocean, alas I do not have a satellite phone).  Just put Arkaea in the subject so that I know it's muy importante.

    For the time being, I'm raising the automatic updates to 2 a day, 12 hours apart because we have so many mods and I won't be able to manually check for updates like I normally do. 5am EST and 5pm EST. I'm not sure what that is in other time zones at the moment, but make sure you're somewhere safe at those times because it'll force update.


    One last thing:

    If anyone wants to act as a go-to person for server restarts or whatever, I can give you limited access to the control panel before I leave on my trip. This does not give access to my own LogicServer account or any of the financial stuff, but it would give access to stop, start, restart, steam update, check mod updates, and run mod updates. I'll only make a temp login for 1 person, so send me a PM or something if it's something you could/want to do.

    Im going to be done with Ark for a little bit. Lost some stuff I had worked pretty hard for to a game glitch and it took the wind out of my sails. Send me a PM if anyone new is joining in and I will be happy to hop on and get you some starting gear to make life easier.

    @Jonathin some furry looking T-Rex thing glitched out on top of my wyvern and I was stuck underneath it killed my wyvern and me, then my headstone wouldn't gather back my gear. Just typical woes of "early access" games.

    @Will I can go back and gather things, I just got tilted off of that so I am gonna take a break. I appreciate it though.

    Sorry man, I just lost my interest in Ark after losing so much stuff to game bugs. I hope the devs push for a complete game because it would be a lot of fun if the game didnt have so many bugs.

    The issue with Ark servers is sustainability of interest, and mods. Mods can be fun, but they increase loading time and require constant updates and attention. That's why I'm thinking of giving Primitive Plus another try since they have reportedly patched a lot of stuff with it, and it has content such as expanded crops, etc.

    As the guy who literally did a large swath of the documentation updates on gamepedia for it, I'd strongly suggest against Prim+ if you think it's less buggy. If you can handle janky behavior, jump right in and it's a blast.

    Note that the clustered Scorched Earth server is strictly PVP and much more of an official anything goes environment. The Center is PVE, with all that that entails. Full specs are:
