@Kisharo shared this song with me today, and because I am such a patriot, my mind perceived it as Mhaldorian- especially the beginning. It went kind of like this: [mychanged lyrics in italics]
(imagines a city gathering of Mhaldorians wearing masks, chanting together) "Together we are, A powerful force, As one, mind, body and soul. Let no Good enter nor attempt to reduce us because of the beliefs we hold, And with these Truths, combined with our Strength, We grow with pain and stress. Mhaldorian I am, whole heartedly, in life and in death."
(And then the Tyrannus bursts out into badass rap) XD
Cats seeing humans as large, weird cats seems to be true (I haven't seen any studies that contradict it at least).
Social grooming is a common thing between cats (and a ton of other animals), even cats that can't spend ten seconds around each other without fighting will sometimes quickly lick each other before backing off or scratching. It has nothing to do with thinking of humans as kittens, it's just part of how cats interact with others. Male cats don't help raise kittens and they still bring prey to humans, so that theory doesn't really fit. As far as I know, there's no universally-accepted theory on why cats do this. Attacking when you rub their bellies also isn't something cats normally do with kittens, so it's very unlikely that it has anything to do with teaching (there are several reasons a cat might expose their belly, but the reasons they'll often attack if you touch it is pretty obvious; they don't want it touched). Ultrasonic vocalisations (communicating with sounds that most adult humans can't hear) is usually something that only kittens do, not adult cats. Adult cats mostly communicate with each other through body language; they use meows and other vocalisations more often with kittens because kittens have terrible attention spans and so the parent has to be as un-subtle as possible to get them to listen, and kittens meow more because it's the easiest way to communicate that they want something or something's wrong (the same reasons human babies cry or whine). Cats do use specialised meows for humans, but that seems to be because they're good at learning to manipulate people; it seems to be learned behaviour (figuring out what type of communication works best to get what they want) rather than anything instinctive, and it tends to take advantage of humans being responsive to the sounds of human babies rather than anything to do with kittens.
@Cynlael So true. I used to have a DSL connection with AT&T that would disconnect whenever someone turned on a particular light....and guess who had room mates that never remembered to NOT use the light?

You know, that one thing at that one place, with that one person.

I'm not sure I can fully appreciate this without hearing actual Australians reading it aloud. *hint hint*
Or just a male Australian.
