Worse as in now you first have to figure out which Imperial system the measurement is in to convert it since both use the same names for units.
From what I understand from my American friends in the engineering field, metric is already mostly used in those fields and others like architecture.
As for time, I would not mind a metric system for it, but it would only work for hours, minutes and seconds for obvious reasons. Dates would be impossible.
Yeah, the sciences certainly use metric of some form (mostly SI, but some still use cgs). And all our base units (inches, pounds, etc) are defined based on SI, anyway.
Decimal multiples of seconds would be easy enough to work with in principle (1 ksec is about 15 minutes, 100 ksec is a bit more than a day, 30 Msec is about a year), but you'd lose the relation to the diurnal and solar cycles, so no one would actually use them (barring far future interstellar travel scenarios). Base 60 is actually really nice, in that it makes working with fractions easier (since 60 has a lot of integer factors), which, incidentally, is also an advantage to certain aspects of the Imperial system (such as having 12 inches in a foot). There was some debate for that reason over whether to use decimals for the metric system when it was invented, but the decimals won (I assume because it's easier to extend to very large and very small units).
These seem like amazing flowers to have around Halloween.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby

When I first looked at it earlier with housemates, blue and black. Closer look, blue and gold. Definitely a light blue, though.
Opened this thread, looked at that picture. Yeah still blue and dark gold. Scroll up to read some more posts (as I had skipped a few), and then I scroll back down.
It's a trick with lighting. Top is bright, so your eyes see the blue as white, the black as gold. If you go from the bottom up, you see the true color - or as close as you can - which is blue with black lace. There are several other pictures of the dress, but in that particular one, it creates an optical illusion with the color rods in your eyes.
When I looked at this thing the first time it was black and gold, last night it was white and gold, this morning it was white and gold, now it is black and blue. idk the dress is possessed.
Edit: First time I saw it, it was black and blue, not black and gold...
