I just killed a bunch of these in Dragon Age Inquisition, they  make good armour/weapon modifiers.

Can also confirm, having spoken to @Cidusii. We had a conversation when we met up in Nashville about how he tried "fried bear" in Texas and I was exceptionally confused until he clarified he meant fried beer.
