"Note: due to the often divisive, inflammatory nature of discussions on the internet in regards to OOC politics and religion, these two topics are not welcome." - Forum Rules
Reading the quote is hard.
Technically it's not inflammatory to point out that morality is not derived exclusively from religion. It might be inflammatory to argue against that, but we're safe there, since nobody is going to argue with something that has been demonstrated true in previous rhetoric and research.
Like if I post a really cool evolutionary tree here showing where different species emerged, are you really gonna point at the forum rules just because the picture is contrary to someone's beliefs? No, cause being rational and aware of the natural world is not a crime.
Hawaiian citizens recently opposed diverting a lava flow from damaging people's properties because it would anger Pele, the lava goddess. In 2014. I'm sure some rational people might have spoken against that but welp, that would be disrespectful and inflammatory.
I like my steak like I like my Magic cards: mythic rare.

I posted what I posted because otherwise it would likely lead to posts such as this, which can only really lead to arguments. If that rule wasn't there, I would've posted something completely different - where inevitably everyone would likely jump on me for it.
The rule exists for a reason. There is no reason whatsoever why this rule should be only one-way. You either enforce it both ways or no ways at all. That is to say that if people can't post stuff to defend stuff that makes fun of religion, people should also not be posting anything that makes fun of religion.
I will not post about the overall content of your post because I believe that is against the rules. Respect that and please cease. If you want to argue the point, I am quite happy to seek input from the admin on the case.
The quote didn't make fun of religion at all. It wasn't even critical of religion, only of certain types of thinking/people (who happened to be religious in this case, although people make the same arguments without religion being involved).

It still annoyed me immensely and I wanted to make a comment about it (to correct what people were trying to say), but instead opted to mention that I believe it's against the rules. I agree (to a degree) about the stuff in the quote, but I still find it derogatory.
I see what your saying, but this particular quote is about religious people and is insulting them and their intelligence. I don't see how it isn't critical of religion.
Also note that if it garners responses like these, then yes it is clearly a problem. I would've posted up my thoughts on the matter but would have immediately been chewed out for it (as has happened before) - which is why I believe the rule exists in the first place. So simply don't post stuff like this, and there won't be an issue. There are dozens of other things on the internet you can post.
That happened to me at first. And then since even a single kitten death is unacceptable, I immediately wiped the save and started over from scratch. After doing that a few times, I was very careful about making sure I can always survive the winter.
“Thought and affliction, passion, hell itself, she turns to favor and to prettiness.”
You are well educated and tend to work in an academic or artistic field - that is, if you have to work at all, since you usually have wealthy or high class parents. You are reflective, thoughtful, and affected. Some might say you are TOO thoughtful (and affected), and it takes far too long to make up your mind - but once you wade through the indecision, you are driven to implement your vision. You tend to keep to yourself, with your nose in a book, singing songs to no one, or muttering in dark corners.
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"
Their choices on websites and articles were terrible.
You are Lady Macbeth
“Screw your courage to the sticking-place and we'll not fail.”
You are a strong, powerful, charismatic personality. People do what you say...or get the heck out of your way. You are practical, matter of fact, and you'll do whatever it takes to get the job done. Your single-mindedness can make you a bit of a loner. Three course meals and fancy cocktails aren't for you - you're far too practical for that frou frou nonsense. Be careful that, in your drive for excellence, you don't push everyone away. You might need friends when you least expect it.
You are a textbook idealist. When you fall in love, it is head over heels...and usually, it's love at first sight! No matter, since you are all heedless optimism and idealism. As a result, you can be a bit sensitive and your heart (and ego!) has been bruised more than once. Your friends value you for your good nature and positive outlook on life. You can be sneaky and crafty when you go after what you want, and it doesn't always turn out how you expect - but it does always ends up for the best!
Yup, that sounds about right, really.
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby
“But see - while idly I stood looking on, I found the effect of love in idleness.”

You are a proud, regal personage. You value tradition and
loyalty above all else, and you are wary of those whose motivations are
suspect. Once your trust and confidence is lost, it is gone forever. You
enjoy the finer things in life: only the most peerless vintage of wine,
the best cut of meat, the most artisanal cocktail for you. You are at
heart a good and noble soul, and a strong presence, so those below you
trust your confidence and grace under pressure.
You are delightful, playful and silly. You are cheerful,
resourceful, and bounce back quickly from new challenges with a smile.
You have a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. After all, everyone
likes to hang out with you - you're always up for the next adventure.
You can be hotheaded and impatient, but people love to hang out with you - they know you're the life of the party! No one knows what you'll do next, and that's the fun of it. Lithe and athletic, you wear whatever is comfortable, are willing to visit the weird and scary corners of the world where others fear to tread, and will eat up anything strange and unusual...frog legs, anyone?
