...ash wednesday to me is the day when good little Catholics go to church and have little crosses drawn on their foreheads with ashes.
    Don't forget Anglicans :P
That's why those fires are called Ash Wednesday.  They took place on 16 February 1983 which happened to be Ash Wednesday.

I've seen some really bad ones... Like this one where the journalist witnesses a lady give birth to pots and pans...
    Apparently muthi is real, man.
Also, to the sheer amount of posters on the trains saying, "get your ex back; penis enlargement; abortions; contact Dr.Trust ..." - what the actual furck?
Actually... On the way home today, i'm going to look for some of these...
    Welcome to Africa...
  • I'm sure they were just playing tag when he walked in...

@synbios that was so so gorgeous. Great find.

@Lianca: I blame it on recently watching the film of Les Miserables. I don't care what the other fleshlings say - Russell Crowe really does fit the role of Javert(and I was supremely impressed by his singing too, especially the Fantine's Arrest scene).

  • LiancaLianca Fire and Spice
@Synbios: I enjoyed the film too, I don't think Crowe was quite on par with the stage performances, but he did a great job and no way deserved the flak he got.

I dug out my 1985 London cast recording to sing along with last night, was a good night.
The sweltering heat of the forge spills out across the land as the rumbling voice of Phaestus booms, "I want you to know, the Garden reaction to that one is: What?"
The voice of Melantha, Goddess of the Seasons, echoes amid the rustle of leaves, "That's the censored version."

T-Dogg, don't watch this, I know you hate that song.
