She leaps to her right and retrieves a coiled whip from beneath her cloak. "Now you've done it, Legbreaker. Little did you know I am actually a serpent!"
I thought there would be more posturing. Also sorry for a lot of the lazy emotes. I'm not yet good at targetted emoting and I haven't been roleplaying for the past few years.
Absolutely love RP fighting. Wish more people did it.
The quoted is from an RP fight that happened right about when I started playing Achaea, it is remains one of the most intense and fun RP moments I've ever had.
Tvistor begins to silently crawl up behind Aodfionn, dirk and whip in hand with a razor-sharp obsidian dagger clenched carefully between his teeth.
You whisper to Aodfionn in a cool, flowing voice, "The Naga bid you a good day, thief-hunter."
Tvistor leaps for Aodfionn's exposed back in a terrifying blur of movement!
Aodfionn spins to face the unseen threat, but clumsily trips over his own foot. He grunts and winces in pain as the glinting dirk grazes his neck during its lethal descent. He manages to catch himself at the last moment and pivots to face the serpent, gracefully flowing into the Thyr stance.
Aodfionn smoothly draws Conquering Waves from his scabbard and sends a lightning-fast slash at Tvistor'ss head, screaming a blood-chilling warcry.
Tvistor ducks the blow swiftly, and takes a step back. Unhesitatingly, he sheathes his dirk and spits the obsidian dagger into his now free hand. Light plays across its venom-drenched surface.
Tvistor pumps his arm furiously, throwing the dagger straight for Aodfionn's heart and drawing his dirk once more.
Aodfionn's eyes narrow at the approaching projectile. In two unbelievably fast strikes he neatly slices the dagger into four jagged pieces. Eyes glowing blue with raw Shin energy, Aodfionn now sends the deadly shards soaring back at Tvistor with a single flick of a hand.
Tvistor attempts to roll under the shards, but a lone piece of the blade cleanly cuts through his left arm. Too filled with adrenaline to note the wound, he comes to his feet in front of Aodfionn. His dirk wielded in a reversed grip, Tvistor begins to twirl in a series of crushing stabs, all aimed at vital points on his opponent's body.
Aodfionn begins to sway away from the blows. Slowly at first, he builds up speed and the air begins to crackle around him in a storm of Shin energy. His scabbard begins to glow a foreboding orange as he draws Conquering Waves. Wielding the now red-hot blade, he furiously assaults Tvistor with three sweeping slashes directed at his torso, his sword cleaving orange trails in the air where it passes.
Tvistor leaps away from Aodfionn's devastating counter-attack, the glow of Conquering Waves glimmering off the sweat on the serpent's brow as he desperately defends himself from the flashing sword.
Tvistor continues to back away, unable to break Aodfionn's building momentum. Suddenly, with a cold grin, Tvistor stops retreating and flings an arm out at Aodfionn. From his sleeve, a ferocious death adder emerges, flying straight for the blademaster's exposed face!
Aodfionn's charge falters as the adder lunges at him. Eyes widened in surprise, his focus is lost and Conquering Waves ceases to be a conduit for Shin energy, instead reverting to a cold, blue hue. He frantically attempts to block the snake with his blade. The blocking edge of the sword strikes the adder in the midsection and launches it away from the troll. Hissing frantically, the adder slithers away.
Tvistor takes advantage of Aodfionn's momentary distraction to step in close to the blademaster. Too close for Conquering Waves to be used effectively against him, Tvistor begins to expertly windmill his dirk, becoming a veritable whirlwind of death, raining dozens of blows, every one of them potentially fatal.
Aodfionn's eyes spark with fury as he pits his mastery of Striking against Tvistor's Naga training. Hands moving with wicked speed, the blademaster repeatedly avoids certain death by deflecting Tvistor's dirk with his bare hands. Finally, having once again synchronised himself with the flow of battle, Aodfionn expertly summons the power of the Airfist and sends a pulverising blow into his opponent's stomach.
Tvistor is sent flying backwards by the hurricane strength winds that ensue, landing nimbly a few feet away. Panting heavily, he assesses Aodfionn.
Aodfionn is similarly tired, and eyes Tvistor warily.
Tvistor quickly melds into the shadows, retreating for the time being.
Tvistor yells, "Go to Hell, Aodfionn!"
Aodfionn yells, "Come with me!"
Aodfionn sheathes Conquering Waves with a flourish, the storm of Shin energy around him slowly subsiding.
I absolutely love RP fighting. I used to do it before, but Ruth has since mellowed down considerably from her constant state of aggression, so they are rarer now.
Here, I dug up half of an old log of the period when I was trying to convert Ellodin and it ended up in a scuffle:
Unable to help herself, Ruth sinks the dagger into Ellodin's back, enjoying the trickle of blood that ensues afterward. "I'm sorry," she whispers.
All of Ellodin's back and abdominal muscles tighten as you puncture his flesh. Though he doesn't cry out, he groans in a strained voice, his right arm tightening against yours, his hand clasping the back of your wrist tightly.
"Shh," Ruth murmurs reassuringly, holding Ellodin against her still. Her right arm shifts slightly as his hand clasps the back of her right wrist tightly. "We're friends, no matter what, right?" She works the blade out from your flesh, before shoving it in again, hilting it within him.
All of Ellodin's breath exhales sharply from between clenched teeth, his eyes and mind only staying focused due to his years of experience with wounds. His body struggles against your arm, his right hand fighting to pry your arm away.
Leaving the blade where it is, Ruth encircles Ellodin's body with her left arm as well and reinforces her hold from the back without another word. She, too, struggles against his squirming body, her right arm barely able to stay in its position around his abdomen.
His left arm joining the struggle, Ellodin fights to free himself, his feet shuffling forward as he moves to escape your clutches. In the midst of the scuffle, he fails to fully notice his surroundings and he stumbles into the ottoman, tilting forward as he loses his balance.
Ruth's clutches around Ellodin loosens as he tilts forward over the obstructing ottoman, sending her toppling over to the side and onto the ground beside the furniture.
Ellodin falls onto the ottoman briefly, free of your grasp. He reacts quickly, following you to the floor as he pins your wrists down with his hands, sitting on your chest. Feeling pain from the dagger in his back, he winces and sits upright, eyes burning as they look down into yours.
Ruth meets Ellodin's burning gaze steadily, rolling her head to the left in an idle gesture. Her arms jerk against his hands that pin her wrists down once, testing his strength against hers.
Ellodin releases your right hand, reaching behind himself to yank the dagger out of his back. He emits a strained groan as he throws the dagger across the room, his full weight still on you.
Ruth's right hand whips outwards in a bid to stop Ellodin from flinging the dagger. Failing that, her eyes simply follow the route of the dagger as it flies across the room, hitting against the side of the bookcase and landing upon the deck. Her gaze lingers upon the weapon, before returning to meet his gaze.
Ellodin draws his dagger from its sheath with his left hand, his right still pinning your wrist. Guarding it from your hand by holding the dagger downwards along his forearm, he puts it up to your neck as he leans down close to you, his eyes locked on yours, his lips curled up in a sneer.
I don't have the rest of the log but I'm pretty sure I lost this fight.
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."

I love how @Tvistor basically launches a snake directly at @Aodfionn . I hope he doesn't mind if I steal the idea at some point.

Damn, @Ruth . Do you realize how incredibly terrifying that bit sounds?
Once upon a time, @Mathonwy and @Rikeshar destroyed furniture and priceless works of art in Fruitless Orchards while arguing over...who was the dandier gentleman? I can't remember exactly what sparked the fight, but it was hilarious. I will have to see if I can find the log.
My avatar is an image created by this very talented gentleman, of whose work I am extremely jealous. It was not originally a picture of Amunet, but it certainly looks a great deal like how I envision her!
I screwed up targetted emoting much less this time. This was so fun, I have an urge to start picking more RP fights with people.
Go for it! Makes everything feel more vibrant and alive. Just be careful where and around who you do it, since it can still be seen -from an RP perspective- as an aggressive action

hahaha, I forgot all about this.
to be fair i am pretty sure I won it. HE WASN'T MAN ENOUGH TO WEAR A LACE SCARF
I like the idea but in my opinion you have to have a general agreement on who's going to come out on top beforehand or else people will just keep pulling things out of their hats/sleeves/scabbards in order to get the upper hand. And then the partner will pull of some counter and subsequently whip something out of THEIR sleeve/hat/scabbard.
I have 150 Lusternian credits that I'll trade over for Achaean ones. Let me know if you're interested!
I dunno.. I think you fight till one person says 'I am done' that is all a toon can take. Or till someone pulls you apart. Or till you roll on the ground in utter exhaustion wishing you had it in you to throw another punch but knowing you really wouldn't have it in you. If I had a predetermined fight presented to me I would tell that person to eff right on off.

I dunno, @Daeir has a mean right hook, even if he has 10x weakness to lightning.
