I have an awesome semi-recent log to post re: RP with Flair but... I don't want it to suddenly get taken IC and used against him. Not that such a thing would happen (or has happened before... *cough* RevolutionariesofChaos *cough*
I logged in yesterday to vote for Jinsun for Demiurge because he asked me to. We are very friendly and he is loyal to Babel, and I don't think Sybilla has been around much (though I am just trusting what others say on this, and really like her). While I was around, I tried to get something going with the Disciples, asking them who thought they knew the teachings well to try to see if we could host a city conversation in the chapel, which replaced the orphanage in a positive development quite some time ago. No one really bit, which is fine, people can be busy.
Figuring I might as well flail around with the fighters on the battlefield and participate in some kind of activity while I have the time, I joined for a brief battle against Targossas. Now, admittedly this is just one example, following this Jinsun confessed he was drunk, and it was pointed out to me that party chat in Ashtan is typically ooc. Still...
(Party): Jinsun says,
"I'm going to shit down his throat."
(Party): Jinsun says,
"I'm literally going to kill im."
(Party): Jinsun says,
"Cut his head off."
(Party): Jinsun says,
"And RP shitting in his neck cavity."
(Party): Jinsun says,
"You guys can watch, too."
(Party): Jinsun says,
"For Chaos."
Jinsun, I love you to death, you know I do. Please, for the love of Babel, accept this as constructive criticism and just shape up. I've not joined any ooc chat clans because I think just talking about the game can put you out of the zone. I cannot imagine what conversation like this, if it takes place as frequently as I am led to believe, does to destroy immersion. If we want Babel to come back, if we want to save the Occultists from whatever godawful fate the Renaissance has in store, we really need to do better.
So just for you guys, I dug and cleaned up a log I've held secured away in my folder, which is the debate Verily and I had directly after Mel's second excommunication. As far as I know, no one has seen this log, and moreover it does not exactly show Mel in a great light, being in the state she (and to a point, I) was in, so I never shared it with anyone.
That said though, besides Verily herself, Jarrod, Hirst, Lianca, Taraus (at the time being Ashtani) and many many others were present. It is a bit old, admittedly - about a year or so now, in fact - but it's the best of what I have to offer at this moment!
And I love too Be still, my indelible friend That love soon might end You are unbreaking And be known in its aching Though quaking Shown in this shaking Though crazy Lately of my wasteland, baby That's just wasteland, baby

Just saw. This. I really felt bad that it kind of turned you off. Generally, Fighting with the guys has been OOC unless we're being raided. We fight together in party chat all the time. When I do try to make RP attempts we all joke a bit sarcastically because I think, we, well me at least, don't feel that any legitimate attempt at RP is going to be earnestly taken to heart by those who complain about us not doing it so readily. So we joke about it when we do in our generally OOC parties where we talk about Jhui's wife interrupting our raids, the boys being weird at Bonarroo and a number of non-Achaean topics. I also just really don't care for @Antidas. I'm sorry that we got crossed signals there, but Jinsun ICly never RPs like that, and you've seen that.
I do have to say, it was weird when I first started raiding with the a-team, and Jhui said something about his dog. I got -realy- confused for a total of four seconds. Though, admittedly, it's part of why I enjoy the raiding. Leaves us, me at least, with a bit of a laid-back feeling. Helps me a lot with dying and stuff.
The log of my wedding has quite a few Ashtani who RP'ed in it, even Hirst and Jhui briefly. Also Daslin, Andraste, Malak, Skarash, and Arcturus. Kadin too, of course. I'd rather not post it since it was a particularly special event between Kadin and I with the people we had there.
Targossians need to chill about this RP thing. Your crazy strict rules on fraternization makes you difficult to converse with sometimes. As for everyone else jumping on this "Ashtani don't RP bandwagon," all the stereotypes about your cities and orgs aren't necessarily true for every person, and so the stereotypes about Ashtan aren't always quite true.

So, Mariya gave me a fucking long talk about my contesting as Demiurge and gave my ring. We RP'd our balls off. You see those prone tags? We was sittin on dat bench.

I gotta say, mildly amused that I was tagged in this just so Jinsun could make sure I saw how much he dislikes me lol. Never woulda known this thread even existed if I hadn't been tagged!
edit: also, the fuq does "if Antidas goes class" even mean. Totally lost me there
Honestly tagged you just by habit. Meant goes a different class. We hate your evade, never leave Targossas again, get one kill a night fighting method.
I sit in the city no more or less than anyone else. If a group of you come try to gank me when I'm out of the city, of course I'm not going to come wandering back out again...thats just inviting another 4 man gank squad, and I don't have enough of a buffer on dragon yet to not give a shit about my xp.
And during raids I actually put myself in dangerous situations more than anyone else in the city, since I have a habit of evading into/nearby your group to keep an eye on whats going on.
tl;dr sue me if I don't stick around to die when there's a big group of you trying to kill me
To be honest, while I was Ashtani I didn't rp. Not going to lie. I've done more RP as a Targossian than I ever did and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. That being said, I will admit I've seen Ashtani RP, not the A-Team because whenever I was being sneaky all I ever heard was Jarrod talking to Dunn in tells about this TV show he was watching or things along those lines. So yeah, it's hard to see the A-Team itself RP, but I know for a fact Sybilla and Taraus RP'ed a lot. So while I sit here and pick on you guys, to be honest, I just don't care. I'm glad the 3-7 hour raids are over with. It's given me time to be able to move forward in my Ministry in Targ. So I say, let them act the way they want. They're not hurting us really. Oh, BTW I've also RP'ed with Jinsun and taught him a few tricks with the remove shirt :(Raising his hands above his head,) removes @Thing. So I can honestly say even Jinsun's rped with me.

Not actually gonna kill her, because I've heard she is quick to issue? Just thought it would be amusing to talk
