@jarrod 1, @ernam 0. He is the leader,  had you actually contested,  he would be wrong.  Otherwise, just complaining and saying you are going to, destabilizes the house and he was in his rights I think.  Hindsight: contest first
  • Ah, IRE game politics, is there anything better for the soul? (perhaps a Catharsis)

This. Is. Hilarious. So did Arcturus get enemied? Where is the log of conversation with Jarrod? Inquiring minds want to know! :grinning:

[Edit: Sorry if that sounded like I was making light of what happened to you. If it's legit without basis, that truly sucks but I would not be surprised.]

Nah it was illegal and is getting reversed.  Arcturus didn't get enemied.  Arcturus is an Archon who was reversing Jarrod's illegal outcast/enemy.

You must be at least house level 5 in your house to contest a houselord.
Question: Does House Probation impact the ability to contest?

It impacts crystal refinement, so probably

Doesn't much matter.  Pretty hard to win an election when you can't read/write news, or speak on HT/HTS.

@Asmodron brings back memories of you screaming you'd burn the Eschaton, and then getting enemied to Ashtan eh?

  • Ahahahaha, getting reversed?

That's rich. There's no such thing as 'legal basis' to enemy in Ashtan, though you slandering me is a solid start.

Oh lordy, he thinks it's getting reversed, hahaha

I probably would too if the city leader and an Archon reversed you enemying him 5 times in a row.

  • Weird, because he's still an enemy.

It's like I know how the city works and you don't, how odd.

Sounds like a cop bragging about how fucked the guy is who he planted cocaine on then arrested for possession.

It's a pretty hard situation to get out of, especially when it's three or four cops, but it's going to be resolved one way or another.  Not going to let a group of pissed off trolls ruin an otherwise amazing game for me.  You're welcome to keep trying, but I believe at this point, you should stop acting surprised when you get issued for it.
  • I'd say with a -2 out of 5 record I'm pretty ok with whatever you try to do.

I don't understand your point.  Nothing specified there makes it either justified or legal, in character, to outcast/enemy Shecks to Ashtan.  Furthermore, everything that you just quoted is 3 months old, and has virtually nothing to do with this.

I quit the Shadowsnakes because I've been on house probation since what?  Early June?  Jarrod made it 100% clear that he would never remove me from probation.  I didn't understand why, at the time, you would do this, until I finally gave up and quit, and he used the fact that I quit to outcast me from Ashtan (illegally).

If you'd like to argue in-character legal facts, consider this:

    1) Ashtan's house right 1 is contingent on me actually breaking an oath.
    2) I never broke any oaths.  Quitting the house is not in the oath.  Since I've been in the House significantly longer than either yourself or Jarrod, you really have no clue what I swore when I joined, anyways.
    3) House right 1 requires 4 archons to approve outcasting, which failed to pass, because his claim was illegitimate.  He proceeded anyways, despite multiple archons not being present or actively trying to stop him.
    4) I'm the 3rd (if not more) person that he's essentially banned from the House for stating that they're going to contest.

Jarrod openly insults me, unprovoked, on the forums nearly everytime he speaks in a thread that I have also posted in.  It shouldn't take a massive logical leap to realize that he has a personal problem with me, OOC, and that this, combined with the fact that I was going to contest him, is the reason I was outcast.

    1) I never stated you were on permanent probation. I stated if you wanted to talk about it without purely slinging insults you would be removed from probation. The first thing out of your mouth after that was bitching on HNT that I hadn't taken you off probation.

    2) There is no such thing as a 'legal' city enemy. Anyone in power can declare anyone not a citizen an enemy for any reason. At that point it's up to the city to change it (it isn't being changed based on city leader) if they want to, or they can let it stay (they are).

    3) It just clearly got stated you broke your oath, which you didn't refute:
    Ashtan House Right 1
    --------------------

The House Lords of Ashtan shall have the right to request that the
Council revoke the citizenship of any member of that House found to have
broken their oaths to the House.

    4) Please stop talking about your issues against me to others. Discussing issues is against issue policy and you talking about how I've been "punished multiple times" in messages is both violating this and a complete lie. I've never been punished for any issue you've made against me, ever.

    5) If you're going to use the IGNORE function in game on one of your characters, then talk about me on the forums with the other, you are circumventing your own ignore. Stop. Do not talk about me or my character, I do not talk about you or your characters. Do not bring me up.

  • Not going to use memorable quotes as a battleground, and I'm certainly not going to bother repeatedly pointing out things that you say that are blatantly untrue or painfully ironic.

Whether or not what you did was justified is not up for debate.  It is illegal and being handled accordingly.  I posted it purely so that people could see what you've done.

It's really hard for me to avoid commenting on the fact that you are trying to paint yourself as a victim of harassment as a result of this situation.  I sincerely hope that nobody on earth is stupid enough to read this thread and arrive at that conclusion.

You don't understand my point because you can't comprehend what it is to be wrong. You went to extreme measures to attempt to make a fool out of Jarrod. The extreme measure being quitting the house when you didn't get it your way. The logical step a sincere person would take in this situation would be to A) apologize and/or take the steps necessary to get off probation (even though you perceive having to do this as Jarrod making it impossible for you to come off it, very lulzy) or if you really really felt like you shouldn't have to apologize B) talk to the house leader and let him know you want to quit. You did neither of those things.

I personally was not going to take you off probation because you never once came to me and said "this isn't right". Had you approached me and shown you sincerely wanted to fix things or you sincerely felt Jarrod was in the wrong, we most definitely could have worked something out, otherwise I agreed with Jarrod. In fact we never spoke at all after you were put on probation. In fact the next time after that I clearly recall we spoke (I'm sure there were a handful of times that don't come to mind) was me asking about you quitting the house. You told me you were a member of the Shadowsnakes, not the piss-pot clan it had become.

Those quotes are why you were first put on probation. Your stubborn attitude is what kept you on probation for three months and which ultimately led to you getting kicked out of Ashtan since Jarrod exercised his house rights. You broke a house oath and that's punishable by being cast out of the city.

    edit:
However I do agree with you and the Memorable Quotes thread is not the place to hash it out. I'm dropping it.
