    If he was already writhing out of something else (webbing, hangedman), then it is normal. Or could be lag on your part.

    What else would he be writhing out of that he wouldn't have writhed out of first? I thought writhe things stack? Roped then webbed then impaled = writhed out of rope, writhe out of webbed, writhe out of impaled. Nothing cleared between my impale and his writhe, and I believe he just bursted so there wasn't anything on him anyway (apart from the paralysis that I impaled off of).

    I won't rule out lag, though. My party call and discern went through on proper trigger time though, don't see how the writhe time would be messed up.

    Its not that. If you are writhing from transfix it should not count as an impale writhe: there's some kind of incredibly elusive bug which on occasion let's you writhe in something like .5 seconds. I don't think anyone's ever managed to actually figure out what causes it or how to replicate it though.

    @Tanris: But according to Cahin's log (and looking back through, my log as well), he writhed from he impale while still supposedly transfixed. Unless transfix got cured some other way? Coulda sworn you can see when someone writhes transfix.

    Unless you're saying he wasn't writhing transfix in the first place, in which case...oh.

    You can writhe transfix/other forms of entanglement separately to impale.

    As in:
    If you have bal and are writhing transfix, you can begin writhing impale and it will not reset your transfix/other entangle writhe.

    The bug is with impale. I'm going to assume that just before that Rajan had already impaled.

    I think the bug manifests off impale writhe timer. Like a failsafe hard-writhe. Impale once, they start writhing and writhe time should be a constant. If for some reason the victim is off the blade before the designated time, like if blade is withdrawn, the original writhe finishes.

    However, this doesn't happen 100% of the time. As in, I can still dbreak, impale twist twist - withdraw blade and re-impale before first leg finishes healing - and still twist twist twist twist before writhe goes most of the time. Other times it's impale/writhe. Not sure on conditions.

    There's also that bug, which I don't know if it still exists, where if you web someone, and they begin writhing, then you rope them, they'll writhe off the ropes before the webs (IE, beginning to writhe out of something before they're even tangled). Since ropes have a longer writhe time than webs, and the ropes in the aforementioned scenario end up adopting the web writhe timer, it ends up being totally borked.

    So writhe is weird across the board.

    Writhing has always been like that. Once you start a successful 'writhe' then it calls a writhe timer based on what kind of thing you begin to writhe from, but when it comes time to actually finishing it just pops the most recent writhe aff you've been given. As a bard with dwinnu you experience this a lot.

    EDIT: Though, in seriousness, how did I do other than forgetting the basics of bloody Paladin combat?  I was mostly just sticking with pref/curare for a good portion of the fight with some curare/kalmia for flavor.

    EDIT MARK II: Oh, I also forgot to recall my falcon before I fought.  So, that's number four.  CALL MY BLOODY FALCON
