You'd rather keep spear as it is instead of having it do the same high damage, prone and impale in-room? It would still break shield or do high damage in LoS where applicable. That's strong!
Also, not every spear is the same. The ones that should be* harder to get hit harder. I'm just butthurt that every other factional class got an awesome revamp and here we are talking about nerfing necromancy.
It has a pretty long eq on a throw, if you get pinned you're likely to have writhed free before the Necromancer can use it again. Doesn't make it great for 1v1's (or good balancing in 1v2's as Santar demonstrated).

I almost escaped that. My portal came with focus and I was just waiting for my slow Nimble, un-diademed eq to come back!
Edit: Actually, your log shows gravehands gone too. I may have been able to walk out instead of having to mushroom. Ergh embed eq.
