Mhaldorian Brotherhood

High Lord Vadimuses Xanatov asks Xenomorph, "Lord Xenomorph you have taken an oath that is not taken lightly, to instruct a protege in the way of the Maldaathi. You have admitted to failing him in the past, as your job is demanding, the Knights will not hold it against you, but rather trust that Lord Sartan will give you strength not to repeat your ways, and teach this one as your mentor did to you.  Do you swear to uphold the oath of the Maldaathi to Exemplar Aepas?"

Xenomorph says in a gruff voice, "I swear to follow our ways and instruct him with great care and I will never fail him or forget him this time, or I will remove my cloak, unfit as a Knight. That, I will never allow to happen, I swear I will teach him as Sir Tont taught me, and turn him into a Knight-Druid of Mhaldor."

Xenomorph stands up and stretches his arms out wide.

Xenomorph's blackened hand leaves a faint trail of ash as he acknowledges Vadimuses with a formal salute.

Xenomorph easily vaults onto the back of a blood steed.

High Lord Vadimuses Xanatov asks Aepas, "Exemplar Aepas, what you ask is out of the ordinary. But Lord Xenomorph has vouched for your honour and strength of character. You have a heavy burden on you, and if you fail the Maldaathi by dishonouring us, you will be banished. Lord Xenomorph says that will not happen, and I trust that. Do you swear to uphold the oath of a Maldaathi, essentially a Squire, and heed our ways, and Lord Xenomorph's instruction?"

Aepas says to Vadimuses in a multifarious voice, "I do High Lord, by these words and faith that bind me."
Aepas's blackened hand leaves a faint trail of ash as he acknowledges Vadimuses with a formal salute.

Vadimuses gives Aepas a respectful salute.

Aepas's blackened hand leaves a faint trail of ash as he acknowledges Xenomorph with a formal salute.

Xenomorph's blackened hand leaves a faint trail of ash as he acknowledges Aepas with a formal salute.
Xenomorph says to Aepas in a gruff voice, "We will work harder than ever to do this, you have my word. You will be a Knight-Druid one day. At that time, I will call you brother."

Xenomorph says in a gruff voice, "And forever after."

Aepas nods his head emphatically.

Xenomorph says to Vadimuses in a gruff voice, "Thank you for honouring us, High Lord Vadimuses."

Aepas says to Xenomorph in a multifarious voice, "I shall not let you down."

The corners of Kaevan's lips turn upwards in an enigmatic half smile.

Kaevan Lichlord says in Mhaldorian, "So witnessed by the shadowy and underhanded Naga, as well."

Xenomorph nods his head at Aepas.

Xenomorph shakes Aepas's hand firmly.

Xenomorph shakes Vadimuses's hand firmly.

Xenomorph beckons Aepas to him.

Aepas says to Vadimuses in a multifarious voice, "Yes, my sincerest gratitude."

High Lord Vadimuses Xanatov says, "And so it is, with Archbishop Quei to serve as a witness.
Exemplar Aepas has renewed his vows to Lord Xenomorph, to serve, learn and train as his Squire."

Vadimuses gives Xenomorph a respectful salute.

Xenomorph's blackened hand leaves a faint trail of ash as he acknowledges Vadimuses with a formal salute.

Aepas's blackened hand leaves a faint trail of ash as he acknowledges Vadimuses with a formal salute.

Xenomorph says to Aepas in a gruff voice, "The world beyond that door awaits. Here we go..."

Xenomorph opens the door to the north.

Aepas leaves, following Xenomorph.

Xenomorph, riding a blood steed, leaves to the north.

The door to the north slams shut.

Vadimuses gives you a respectful salute.

Vadimuses opens the door to the north.

Vadimuses moves his huge bulk to the north with surprising grace.

The door to the north slams shut.
I will possess your heart.

  • What..? Are we trying to make Aepas into the most convoluted character ever?

                   Honourable, knight eternal,

                                            Darkly evil, cruel infernal.

                                                                     Necromanctic to the core,

                                                                                             Dance with death forever more.

He's been doing this for a while now. It appears Aepas just kind of seems to like the ideals behind the Maldaathi House.
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"

  • Aepas has been trying to do this for nearly a RL year.

It does sound dodgy but what I would be interested more is to see people who don't like the idea take it up to Aepas ICly. Just curious what would happen.

I wish this thread were in a forum other than the Scarlattan Theatre. So many reaction gifs, never to be born.

I have one, but I don't want to spoil the good moment that was being implied by the log. Congrats(?) on the promotion.

    EDIT: Added quote.

That only works if our characters actually have a reason to dislike it, though. If someone merely dislikes it from an OOC perspective, there's no reason or justification to take it up IC (even less so since most of our characters won't even know about it IC).

@Iocun: I figured the comment was aimed at [players of] Mhaldorians in particular.

I love hedge knights. That said, shouldn't it be "following the footsteps of the Knights of Hashan"?
"Mummy, I'm hungry, but there's no one to eat! :C"

  • Not sure. Did KoH Knight serpents and jesters too?

  • I wanna be a Knight of Hashan.

Ya, we fixed that after Soujirou disappeared and Hhaos took over.

  • I'll say all of this is an interesting situation to be sure. I can understand that it is a very big No-no, and I didn't really expect it to come out onto forums, or really be known much outside of a small group. I would have kept it that way if I could. Icly and OOCly. Mostly because I fear the floodgate issue. Oh no, someone else has been treated like a knight, now let's have everyone attempt to do that. I believe that the Maldaathi in particular have a much stronger sense of "knighthood" then any other knight faction, which is why it is amazingly difficult even for the people that go into it normally. I know plenty who do amazing and still have not been properly knighted yet. See: @katzchen. Still, I am happy to have this one extra layer of roleplay depth, and I believe it will only become that much more difficult on Aepas. After all, he spent a lot of time learning and studying with all of the knights, trying to figure out every little intricacy, and became very well respected by many of them. This action however, shattered his illusions of true respect and in a sense, he is back at the bottom of the totem pole and I'm sure he will manage just a few more odd looks here and there, and I would expect a few scoffs or grunts being the "false Sir" or something like that. There is still a lot to play out here, and I am excited to see where it goes.

  • If anything this will detract from the credibility of the Maldaathi. Druid knight, sigh.

The Maldaathi don't have a stronger sense of "knighthood" then any other knight faction, that's for sure. Just like any other faction, there are some in there that carry themselves honourably and exceptionally well and there are others that behave otherwise. Just pointing that out - your statement is unjustified and understandably biased.

Besides, what Darroth said. You're not of a knight class even if you behave as a knight or uphold knight ideals, even jesters or serpents can behave and carry themselves in that manner. You're not even part of a class that belongs in Mhaldor. You're right though, this shouldn't have spilled onto the forums since it would have been taken out of context extremely easily.

Really shouldn't have. It's way too out of context and does not have the hours/months/years of things put into it. Seems spur of the moment here.

(Edit: Could have come out in theater a bit better if there had been a running log and better understanding I'm sure. )

Heh, wait, let me get this straight. This thread's presence is a -disruptive intrusion- to the forums, because you guys don't have the self-control -not to come in and say something? Lol. You really set yourself up for a forum instakill, one I'm obligated to deliver to a demanding Rome-like mob. We've seen better self control from Lindsay Lohan guarding Pablo Escobar's coke factory.

The real funny part here (which I carefully indemnify myself with an ever so expertly placed "IC viewpoint")  is that we truly care so little for your faction, I'm taken with complete surprise at how proud homeless people can be. -I- even have some modicum of shame. Not a Refugee? You can stop there, the honest truth? It really doesn't matter whether you are or not, because stopping to care is like rearranging the contents of a Honey Bucket, to establish which turd is best. We are a fair people, and can say you are all equals in that regard. Safe to say its all equally shit in the end. MLB doesn't stop to check out the T-ball scores, so don't feel bad. It's nice you want to come in here, like a mortal waltzing into the Divine Garden. You offer advice to superior peoples, so high above you, we ID the taint below us: you are good at being bad. I know you guys are complete jokers when you have non-knights of the rediculous level you reached. It's not like I come into -your work-  and slap the d**ks out of your mouth. And honestly, we just don't even notice you are alive. There is a huge difference between us.

US:     brushed teeth?   t-bone?   Rice?    Dignity?     iPhone?    Take turns in arena?

U:        no teeth!           boned!     mice!    Lol!          no phone!    Tricks turned outside arena!

They'll get around to you I bet, not that I've actually ever stop to think about it.Your people receive befitting care. The same care and treatment afforded to an infant and a puppy stuck in a busted down flatbad on a hot Alabama turnpike.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flatterly, truly. I'd like to know how humbling that is, given your shame is displayed with the dignitity of a peg-legged stripper. Since day one, you sheep eat out of my hand, but take the dump of it all in the Elusian barnyard, -for IC consumption of novices. Honestly, it sort of illustrates the poor decision you showed up here in the first place.  Looking for trouble in a thread sounds like something you wail and point your chubby donut hook at me over, right? The thing is -the ears of society are tuned to maintain selective memory-, and your vocals will drown out faster than any dignity you once had shooting down a drainpipe.

Remember, you walked into here first. The welcoming air, soft carpet, clean dishes, and unbroken homes, should serve as a clear reminder this isn't even your House to discuss,  as you don't even own one. We won't be coming the day you get one anyways. Because on that day, "....Not a single f*** was given"             -will be bellowed with Moses like authority.

You have many pinko lefties, I'm surprised socialism and handouts arent leaving you feeling like a really stinky version of a rich guy.
