Priest or Apostate???

I'm a very new player, and having difficulties deciding on what to start. I like the flavor of both classes, leaning towards Apostate, but I think im hunting wrong. I stop every few kills to meditate.   Normally I would ask in game, but I'm on a long flight and don't have access to the game. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

To help with mana use, get a moon tattoo and some mana elixir. That way you shouldn't have to meditate quite so often, if at all. Also, as you gain levels you'll have more mana to use, which will help too.

Archaeon

Priest uses a mace, and is a good hunting class that scales off strength.  Mana is not used by priest, but endurance is.  You have to sleep to regain that.  

Priest and apostate are very different classes.  Apostate is a momentum locking class, which can be cool.  It's strong in group combat, and decent at 1v1 combat.

Priest is a momentum prep class, and is arguably one of the best 1v1 classes in the game.  Strong in groups, but not as strong as apostate when it comes to straight up killing power.  Tons of support though.

Accipiter

Apostates will always be using an ability that uses mana, at low levels you will want to sip a mana elixir outside of combat if you are low and drink health in combat. Higher levels you will have the knowledge to be more nuanced.

Don’t be hesitant about sipping health/mana. If either is below 90% and you aren’t on sip cooldown you are probably doing it wrong.

So I won't have to get a melee weapon to supplement?  Or should I anyways?  I'll try the moon tattoo when I land.

I know absolutely nothing about Priest or Apostate, but if they're not meant to use a weapon than using one won't provide any benefit at all. You're always best off using your class skills that work against denizens for hunting.

Smite (what you use to hunt as priest) uses a mace.  It is important.  I don't know about apostates.
