Is it possible for blademasters to use shields?

I’m currently making bucklers and I think It’d b nice if I could actually use one. They’re low end, but any extra protection would b good. Also is there a way to see what’s in my hands? b/c I try to wield something and it says my hands r full.

Wielded  will tell you what you have, well, wielded.


And no, BM's can't use a shield AFAIK

If you have positioned scabbard it counts as having your hands full as you're prepared to start slashing with your sword in one hand and scabbard in the other.

And no to the shield for blade masters. Sorry.

This isn't correct. You can position scabbard and then wield whatever - however, having something wielded interferes with the completion of most blademaster sword attacks. In general no shield proficiency, and while you could use a Shield of Absorption I think there is no reason to get one because you would need your hands free to ever attack anything meaningfully.

You can UNWIELD ALL before your attacks if you're worried about it.

You actually can't wield an SoA, and I'd imagine you can't wield any shield at all since they're class-locked in a similar manner to armor. You can wield other things though, just fine- it does, however, block using your normal attacks.

True warriors have no need for shields.

(This is literally the message the game gives you when you try to wield one as a BM)
