Where to meet people. New player.

I am just wondering where I can go to find/chat with other players. I am currently in Hashan and I see no one talking in city chat at all, I am feeling pretty alone. I need a mentor and don't know how to find one because I dont see anyone to communicate with. I am a level 16 occultist and I'm having a lot of fun, but I need some help.

Each city usually has a gathering spot. In Hashan it is The Crossroads. You can usually find some people there (or in the adjacent rooms). Some people just afk there, but if you start talking you are likely to garner at least some response. Alternatively, just talk on CT.  Sometimes are just waiting for someone to say something before they chime in!
