What armor/weapons can be worn/used by each class? Restrictions

I read that some classes can use different levels of armor.
So where can I read up on which armor each class can wear?
Are their similar restrictions on weapons?

Thanks,
Agg

  • HELP ARMOUR
  • Normal armour is something you wear that protects you from both types of
    physical damage (cutting and blunt).

The basic types of armour in Achaea, aside from shields, are, in ascending
order of effectiveness, with the best armour a class may wear listed:

Armour type         Classes (best armour wearable)
    -----------         ------------------------------
    Cloth               Dragon, Magi, Horkvals
    Leather             Monks, Bards
    Ringmail            Alchemists, Apostates, Blademasters
Scalemail           Serpents, Jesters, Shamans, Occultists, Depthswalkers
    Chainmail           Druids, Sentinels, Sylvans, Classless
    Splintmail          Priests
    Field plate         Paladins, Infernals, Runewardens
    Full plate          Paladins, Infernals, Runewardens

NOTE: the classes are listed next to the BEST armour they may wear. They may
wear any lesser armour if desired, or none whatsoever.

The types of shields available in Achaea are, in ascending order of
effectiveness, and with the best type of shield a class may wield listed:

Shield type         Classes which may wield them
    -----------         ----------------------------
    None                Dragon, Magi, Monks, Blademasters
    Buckler             Serpents, Sylvans, Bards, Classless+
    Cavalry             Alchemists, Occultists, Apostates, Shamans,
                        Depthswalkers, Classless+
    Banded              Jesters
    Kite                Priests, Druids, Sentinels
    Tower               Runewardens, Infernals, Paladins

+ Those who have no class may wield Buckler and Cavalry shields.
    * The artefact shield of absorption may be wielded by everyone except
    blademasters.

    Armour Statistics
    -----------------
Non-magical armour and shields have two armour-specific statistics: protection
vs. cutting damage and protection vs. blunt damage. The WEAPONPROBE ability in
the Weaponry skill will allow you to see these statistics on a piece of armour
    or on a shield.

For classes, it would be better off asking if there are any specific classes you have an interest in, so I can save having to throw another chunk of information in here :D
  • Minifie,
    Thanks for the information.
Actually I like the information dump.
I like to research everything about a class before choosing one.  Yeah, I know, you can change classes, but I prefer to understand everything before getting to far into the game.

  • alchemist - self made/none
    apostate - self summon
    bard - rapiers, shields, instruments
blademaster - named blade, self made
depthswalker - shield, self summoned scythe and dagger
    druid - self summoned
jester - self made, daggers for juggling
magi - shields, self made staff
    knights:
    Dual cutting: Battleaxes and scimitars
dual blunt: morning stars and flails
sword and board: shield and longsword/broadsword
    two-handed: bastard swords and warhammers.
monk - hands and feet, shikudo stick

priest - shield, self summon mace
