I'm going to be on the first "Legends of Gaming" stream tomorrow on Twitch. Basically, it's an ~12 hour event hosted by Dr. Cat (Furcadia) and Steven Meretzky (of Infocom fame), with music done by George "The Fatman" Sanger (one of the most important folks in the development of video game music) in a kind of Late Night show style. The idea is that everyone on the 'show' has been developing games professionally for at least 20 years.
I'll be on at 12:45 pm Pacific if you want to tune in.
Other people participating include Richard Garriot ("Lord British"), Richard A. Bartle (inventor of MUDs), Graeme Devine (Quake 3, 7th Guest, currently Chief Creator Office @ Magic Leap), Damion Schubert (Shadowbane, Star Wars: The Old Republic), Ed Fries (led the team that created the Xbox), and many more.

The Twitch stream is linked from there, but for a handy reference it's also here: http://twitch.tv/doctor_cat
We're apparently going to be on the front page of Twitch, so should have quite a lot of viewers cycling in and out. Be one of them!

One of my favorite early gaming memories was Ultima IV (also Garriot's favorite entry in the series!). I still remember, with a little embarrassment, how my 13 year-old self felt that "Numbnuts" was a good name for my character. Sigh.
Everytime someone suggests a name change to him, they get zapped.
Would be glorious.
Penwize has cowardly forfeited the challenge to mortal combat issued by Atalkez.
