Nostalgic Moments

Was digging through my old pastebins and found one that was pretty interesting. Couple of years ago, back in Mhaldor was tasked with a challenge IIRC of slaying every other city's Guardian. I think most of them were gotten, but then we went after Eleusis' and....it didn't go as planned:

    Mizik actually coached me through a fight with Penwize Blademaster vs Dragon. He was watching me try to go for the Brokenstar repeatedly but I could never quite get the bleeding high enough or pin Penwize (heh, pin Penwize) down long enough. So he suggested just striking neck and void and go for Deathstrike. It worked.

    After @Gwawr infiltrated and robbed the Ashura sometime back during the 500's AF, the house had open pk on her because of it, so I often kept an eye out for her. Then one day I noticed that she was hunting the trolls in Qurnok so I decided "Hey, lets go gank her!". After gathering a couple of a couple other Ashurans, we proceeded to jump her.

    It did not go as planned:
    1. I had never led a gank before.
    2. None of the others had led a gank and a few hadn't even been part of the gank before.
    3. As a monk whom everyone was following, I jumpkicked into her room
    4. I didn't announce it to the party before or after I jumpkicked
    5. Even though one of them was a Runewarden, I didn't have them prop.
    She could of easily escaped as an experienced and skilled Serpent, but decided to stick around and see if she could get some kills. She threw up some ice walls, was dstabing and evading in and out. Much flailing on our part ensued. After what seemed like 10 minutes of this, I said "screw this", threw up deliverance, she evades into the room and hits it. We got the kill, but not our pride. I consider it the worst successful gank ever.
    You know, that one thing at that one place, with that one person.

    Yea, that one!

    What's funny is I read this log about a failed Eleusis Guardian kill just last night.

    In light of this morning, Tsol'teth > Mhaldor.
    - (Eleusis): Ellodin says, "The Fissure of Echoes is Sarathai's happy place."
    - With sharp, crackling tones, Kyrra tells you, "The ladies must love you immensely."
    - (Eleusian Ranger Techs): Savira says, "Most of the hard stuff seem to have this built in code like: If adventurer_hitting_me = "Sarathai" then send("terminate and selfdestruct")."
    - Makarios says, "Serve well and perish."
    - Xaden says, "Xaden confirmed scrub 2017."

    They've a lot more going for them, all things considered. Plus at the time, if memory serves, the Guardian was specifically locked up in a hard to reach room because they knew we'd be coming after it.

    Yeah, he basically came in, Insta-loyaled it, then left. I just found it funny that one night I read that log, then next morning the 'Teth come knocking.

    Yeah, sometimes you'd have an entire raid party auto-targetting off of raid leader calls. Pretty brilliant to whomever was illusioning that.
