You nimbly climb through the rigging, beginning your task of clearing the tangle of rope and cloth preventing the ship's sails from opening.
Pulling at the excess lengths of braided rope and tossing them into the sea below, you free much of the vessel's cordage and mast of the spider-shot.
As you remove the final remnants of the chain-shot from the ship, the sails are once again able to be unfurled.

I think the second line is meant to be chain shot.
Also it still seems to be possible for sails to become "stuck" in the open position (full sails) as a result of seamonsters with abilities that mimic chain-shot. I'm not sure if this a bug or intentional, but going by the dialogue when clearing them seems to indicate it is not by design.
