Trade skills & My Priestess

So I have a couple of questions I can't seem to find an answer to - How many lessons do you need to put into a tradeskill before you can make custom recipes, and which skills work well with priests?

  • Assuming this is one of your first two, around 36 lessons? It's at adept to submit your own designs. I can't remember the exact number, but it's right around there.

Custom recipes are just for tailoring/jewellery/cooking however, and they also require a 200c license.

    As for priest...

Synthesis and Remedies or Harvesting and Remedies would allow you to make your own cures.

Armoursmithing would let you make your own armour/shields.

The two enchanting ones would let you make enchantments.

Mostly all of the above can be easily obtained using gold, and won't save you a ton. Remedies (and either Synthesis or Harvesting) would likely save you the most.

Also note that many are designed to work together. A few examples:

    Gathering/Cooking
    Gathering/Inkmilling
    Armour/Weaponsmithing
Current scripts: GoldTracker 1.2, mData 1.1

Latest update: 9/26/2015 better character name handling in GoldTracker, separation of script and settings, addition of gold report and gold distribute aliases.
  • Is it expensive to get supplies if you don't take gathering or harvesting first?

  • That depends on how fast you generate gold. Early on it will likely save time. Later on, perhaps not?

For the things that come from butchering, being able to do it yourself will definitely save time and money. For the rest of gathering, it's hard to say, it depends on how much trouble it is to find someone selling what you need (which varies a lot). Pretty much everything in gathering is easy to find (you rarely have to worry about plants being sparse or areas being cleared out), so it's just a matter of going out and gathering it.

For harvesting, buying herbs is pretty much always faster and easier (and often cheaper) than harvesting them yourself.
