Weaponmastery Bashing: Which Attacks Are Usable Against Denizens?

Hi all,

the title pretty much sums it up already. The Weaponmastery AB's don't state whether an attack can be used against denizens or not, so I'm curious what can be used for bashing and what the differences in terms of damage/speed are (if there are multiple options).

For two-hander at least, the bashing attacks is Slaughter (If you use a bastard sword) , which you can use in combination with Battlefury Focus Speed to shave about a second off its balance cost. Carve is also useful for stripping shield and attacking a denizen

For the other Specialisations, I believe the bashing attacks are Rend (Sword and Shield), Doubleslash(Dual-cutting) and Whirl (Dual-blunt).

Not sure what other skills can be useful in combination with the bashing attacks of the other specialisations, with the exception of Razeslash, in Dual-Cutting, which allows you to strip shield and do half damage to the denizen in the same stroke.

For sword and shield, you can rend, slice, or raze for sword attacks, and I think only smash for shield attacks.

Raze removes shield, rend is slower but a bit more damaging, slice is faster but a bit less damaging. You'd generally use slice/smash for bashing.

If you switch to a battleaxe rather than keeping your scimitars wielded, you can do considerably more damage without sacrificing any speed (razeslash has a set balance time, unaffected by weapon speed stat). Razeslash with my level three battleaxe does more damage than my full level three scimitar doubleslash.

Bashing attack for dual blunt should be Doublewhirl once you have it, Whirl before that.

Yup, raze/smash is basically the SnB alternative to razeslash.

Thanks all. I'm sure Sena or someone else will post the exact numbers in the maths thread once short-term tweaking is done, so I'll wait for that.

Dual-blunt is doublewhirl.

Fracture can also be used to smash denizen shields, but there isn't (and apparently won't be) a RSL equivalent to dual-blunt.
