I doubt very many people will actually be interested in picking and preparing their own curatives. I see most people still simply paying for the convenience of all that being done for them. If I want a steak, I go to the store and buy one; I don't learn how to become a butcher.
Yeah, I'm not throwing a ton of credits into Extracting and Synthesis to save a little gold.
There will still be a lot of people buying curatives. Also, the people who might have Extracting/Synthesis but don't want to spend the time doing metallurgy for days.
You get a free two skills back (lessons from all) and have to repay for anything further from the sounds of it. 50 credits per skill trade. So if you had 6 you are going to repay for those 4 extra. That's 200 credits to learn something you knew. Unless I am understanding things wrong, it sounds jacked up to me!

Technically it's more like a full refund for two and a partial (scaling downward) refund for the rest. But yes, it sounds like you'll have to pay 50 credits for every skillset beyond the second regardless of how many lessons you have stockpiled.
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."

The incongruity of it suddenly struck me.
