Would it be possible to allow players to learn from other players with the proficiency instead of tracking down the denizen teacher? Same cost and everything, just more convenient since some might be bashed out (Shale, for instance).
I thought you couldn't kill tutors? Or does that only count for the language tutors
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!" Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh." Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."
Here is a weird, half serious suggestion to go with this, and somewhere to invest extra lessons for everyone already omni-transed. Take it as you will.
Teaching.
You have to be omni-trans to pick up this skill, it requires X lessons to get the skill, and of course the usual to learn it. Learning this skill would allow you to teach more lessons at once, 1 lesson per 10% of the teaching skill learned. Trans teaching would let you teach up to 25 lessons at once. Somewhere along the line you learn the ability to teach weapon profs. Maybe knowing teaching will let you see how many lessons each skill is at, up to the lessons invested in teaching. (say, 1100 lessons in teaching, you'd see the lessons breakpoint for all skills up to 1100 lessons). I'm sure more can be thought of for this.
Seeing lesson amounts required for abilities in your other skills would be about the only useful benefit. Being able to teach 10 more lessons is ok, I guess, but with how fast learning is now not such a big deal.
Multiclass is no doubt going to be a huge lesson sink for people who don't currently have anything else to learn.
Weapon proficiencies right now are fine, other than the minor annoyance of some of them being in Hashan.

Adding more denizen teachers (especially for ones that are only available on org property) is still listed, though.
