I have similar questions for most of the class bashing skills. If anyone has answers or knows a good resource for what impacts the different classes hunting attack(traits, skill level etc) I would love to know.
Sylvan: Strength but Intelligence effects Stormhammer
Serpent: Strength for whip garrote, level in Venoms for sumac/camus damage (?).
Shaman: Intelligence, level in Curses for bleed damage (?)
I missed a few classes, any some of these classes have artefacts specific to them that help with hunting, like silver fangs for increased Serpent venom damage, spiked knuckles for Monk's tekura and Sentinel/Druids maul damage.
Alignment-based damage got taken out a long time ago. Smite is Str and I think maybeDevotionmainly Spirituality skill level but also affected slightly by Strength stat (barely). Having an artefact mace effects it too.
A frenzied cleric screams, "Like more than one halo!"
I figure strength but does good/evil alignment play a role? what about other factors?
smite damage is based on skill lvl in spirituality well for how often you actually connect that is as well as what kind of mace you have. a regular summoned mace is going to do less damage then an artifact mace. It's also slightly strength based.
Alignment based abilities were removed ages ago, though there were hardly any of them and Smite wasn't among them. There's no coded alignment any more, or at least nothing visible. It's possible the code for it is still present.
Garrote is not strength. It's whip damage and subterfuge skill. Also morphs don't differ in damage. Maul is maul is maul. Jester, occultist, magi, pretty much everything relies on the class skill being closer to trans.
