What specialisation should I emphasize as Horkval monk?

Been inactive for some time and just barely learned about race specialisations. I would love to hear your recommendations for a horkval monk. Should I emphasize strength or constitution as a hunter monk? maybe also recommendations on traits I should select. Traits and specialisations all happened while I was gone and I have done some reading up but would still love to hear some recommendations. Thanks

  • as an avid basher, i went for STR first, and then CON. so i think i went for Vindicator, if i remember correctly. as for traits, i went for Nimble. most minor traits have minimal effect, but for the major ones, i went the ones that gave +1 STR and/or CON again.

It also depends on whether you're going to buy artefacts to compensate for loss of stats - con artefacts are cheaper than str, so go str and buy girdles rather than going con and buying gauntlets. The other thought is higher int for better kaido / telepathy, and a bigger mana pool to transmute.

As a tekura based monk, which is what you'll primarily be, you want Nimble as your first trait, the faster balance recovery is well worth it.

  • I would say that con all the way. I found that extra STR was negligible in making a difference. An increase of 10% strength would only make it take one less combo if it was already taking 10 combos to kill something. I think the extra survivability, and hit+run tactics brought about by the extra 500-900h from con spec will give you way more ability to hunt successfully.

  • Alternatively take con spec and not nimble/quick witted traots and be tankier (no 10% damage gain) and see what thats like. I dropped it as infernal And found that i could tank harder mobs and took lucky in its place for higher crit chance and receptive body for more con.
  • Either way, you want to Min Max - do all str traits and specialisation, or all con, or all int, etc

  • @Seftin Nimble reduces your resistances by 10%, so the effect isn't as severe the less resistance you have to begin with. Infernal is going to notice it a lot more than a monk.
  • Ah right thought it was damage! Thanks @antonius
