I tried going Imp into stupidity on iakimen and he just bails lol. I would too if stupidity got stuck tbf... but what a shitty aff to have as a blocker. Any aff class without imp on demand is just boned vs salt if it’s being used effectively (temper/salt/wrack).
My classlead got denied on it sooooo...
Focusables blocking active cures is fucking dumb regardless. At least with Shaman's- being a salve aff- it's hidden (but not hard to detect if you're willing to throw in some logic on certain abilities), albeit a venom pretty much nobody uses.
It was great when weariness was no longer focusable... Dunno why they proceeded to add focusables to salt/accelerate.
Salt and Accelerate are a lot different than fitness because they don't guarantee a lock break. You don't have to stick stupidity or reckless pre-lock. You can rely on buffer affs instead. They're also stopped by broken arms, unlike fitness. I don't really mind them.
Salt, in particular, is less annoying to fight than hallelujah, given the relative threat of bard and alchemist, imo. And bard can destroy any random cure without even sticking the stopper affliction with the sheer amount of free affs it gives (contradanse, songbird, acciaccatura), plus easy arm breaks. You can also freely give stupidity with a head break for salt specifically.
Alchemist might just have too many things going for it in the momentum race though. In addition to salt being effectively "passive," they have the advantage of clumsiness not affecting temper or wrack (which is realistically most of their offense, you don't need much truewrack), increased herb balance from homunculus hits, faster paralysis delivery than most classes, and para/lethargy/clumsiness access. It's very hindering and hard to hinder.
If you hit rebounding, parry or miss an attack as 2H you are fucked, especially if you hit rebounding and give yourself lethargy. I want to test my 2H damage and speed verus other artied damage classes and see how much more (or less) 2H does

Just have to not die before you hit soft lock on the alch yeah. Takes awhile with salt/tree and I find myself having to disengage a lot more before I can hit it.
And prepping head vs alchemist sounds like I might as well just heartstop right now.*
* I don’t struggle vs alchemists in general. Just Iakimen currently. I beat him a handful of times a month or so ago and have run into a wall recently vs him.
@Kei If they're parrying head you can break/upset a leg without losing any of your momentum to get in a precision overhand. Extra pressure, nice little momentum boost for you, and you can use it defensively to disrupt your opponent's momentum.

Breaking sabbatical for a moment.
2H doesn't hurt as much as you would expect, I'm fairly certain it's lower on pure health damage than a lot of other classes. (Mage/Occie come to mind)
It's not really a damage class, though, it's a health pressure class and you do so from two angles. Focusing solely on damage misses the fracture half of the equation.
Think of it in this horribly simplified way: Each hit is going to take approximately 2.5 sips to cure. With precision, it's two sips for the fractures and half of one for the damage. With speed, one for the fracture and one and a half for the damage. The catch is that it's way easier to mitigate/regen the damage sip than it is to negate the fracture count, which is where precision comes in.
If you hit someone tanky with focus speed, you're not getting anywhere because they'll tank the damage and cure the fracture: Yes, they'll sip eventually, but then you've hit them three times and have one fracture to show for it. Meanwhile, precision has hit twice and has two fractures to show for it.
If you're hitting someone squishy with precision and they're sipping, you're not being as efficient because you could have been using focus speed to achieve the same result.
As far as rebounding goes, focus speed/carve is your highest DPS attack. Try it.
Parry? You have battlefury perceive and prepping limbs should be a tertiary concern, since fractures don't care which side of the body you hit. Code up something that swaps between limbs if they're parrying it. If they don't parry their head, they're screwed. If they think you're a prep class and swap parry to fool you, hit them in the head whenever it's open.
2H can wear down anyone in the game. The main problem is in dealing with their hinder long enough to get there.
Thanks for the 2H advice, all; I am still working on it, and trying things out. Might have to eat the cost and just buy a warhammer proficiency sometime, too, but will see how that goes! Not sure if my problem is just not curing properly, not taking defensive action, trying to use lethargy/clumsiness on people it does nothing to, or focusing too much on that and not my actual offence, though.
For now, a few more logs of random spars from the past couple of days:

Latest changes made it a lot more viable, but there's still more annoying RNG than pretty much any other class because basically everything shares the same couple of cures (in addition to important afflictions being focusable, and having no spammable impatience).
Honestly, there are things that are really easy to avoid if you're cognizant of them that make me seriously question the viability of priest against good defense. In that log, for example, you literally spammed all your mana away by spamming 'touch shield' while prone, which probably shouldn't even be a thing.
It is in chasten (and Devo) but there's no real reason for you to leave a chasten aff stuck since they're largely only comboable with disrupts. Basically only achievable if they prio disrupts over weary, and even then, prone kelp eat would most likely kill it.
Lash asthma alone is aggravating to use though since it requires a focusable aff stuck and no reliable imp access.
Great log of why it’s important to recognize status on defense. Had asthma stuck, got a broken leg to force off salve, had two chances to cure asthma early, another chance later after rng anorexia cure, missed all three. Cure asthma as soon as you get prone and that entire sequence blows up I think. Still could have finessed, as mentioned already too.

You had a concussion. Requires double sending anything to cure properly, iirc. Basically the concussion eats commands that aren’t send repeatedly, which is why it’s so strong under Aeon.
