An ormyrr guard slashes at your neck with his bardiche, very nearly lopping off
your head.
Inhaling deeply, an ormyrr guard belches forth a noxious, green flame that cooks
your flesh.
Charging at you at full speed, a muscular ormyrr grabs you with both arms,
squeezing with extreme strength. Bones audibly snap under the pressure, while
blood begins to seep from your mouth.

Tumble on chill, that way you can sip health while you're getting out and concentrate/apply caloric the second you're free. Also, reflection stops enmesh. (I fought way too many dragons in retard)
Nah, the chill affliction, not disruption itself. You usually have time between the application of freeze and the first proc, if you're fast enough. Doesn't it need to strip caloric first, too?

Well, I wasn't originally planning on tumbling, since I was trying to kill him... I don't have a bow. I have to be in room.
It was once the shivering ticks kept hitting that I realized I was going to die, but then it was too late to tumble. Every time I concentrated, I got disrupted again before I could get a command through.
Really, I probably should have just applied caloric. I just didn't expect so many ticks so quickly.
Yeah, blue breathstorm is going to own you if you aren't careful about it. If you're worried about him getting too caught up, throw conc bombs while you cure. You've got about 45 seconds to secure a kill before plague drops (I think that's how long, anyways, it's been a while) so you can get back in there when you're ready and start killing again.

Oh. He jumped me when I didn't have any vibes, so I only spun like 4-5 of them before retarding. So I had like... 12-16 seconds before plague dropped.
I've been trying to fight Cain and not being a pussy about retardation, but this sort of damage is just sort of ridiculous. This happened in about 1.5 seconds. The sluggish action is tumble, and I obviously died after the tumble started to the next staffcast (which did 1544 to death). Kind of frustrating.
Edit: Max health of 5669, for those interested.

Another mistake!
Yup, try to keep your vibes up somewhere so you just have to focus and ring every now and then, that way you only have to spin plague when you get jumped.
Also, whenever you're fighting monks, watch out for mind confusion if you go the damage route, it'll make your stormhammer take like 9 seconds to give equib back and holocaust will be even worse. Disrupt can be particularly frustrating as well, and mind paralyze can delay you until your vibes die. Telepathy is nuts in retardation, but most monks tend to only batter - and tend to forget about disrupt and confuse.

The sad thing is it took almost all six holos to kill Sohl.
Unartied magi.
Glad I decided to go with six!
