Mudlet 2.1 (Not responding)

Hey! Does anyone else get mudlet crashing a lot from not responding? It seems to happen a lot, is there a fix yet? Especially when it is starting up.

Mine tends to happen with a lot of spam. Vibing, deffing, heavy combat. I've just been riding it out while hoping it doesn't unfreeze with my death, heh.

Mine mostly tend to freeze when it is calculating the route to some specific room. Thought it seems to be a known issue, probably relating more to my old laptop than anything else.

Mine locks up whenever it feels like. Sometimes in the middle of a fight, sometimes when I try goto blahblah, sometimes when I alt tab. It fixes itself after 10-15 seconds.

Mudlet crashes very rarely for me.  Never during startup.

i am using a computer from 1998 to play achaea and an internet connection from 1992, so I am not surprised mudlet breaks every 2 minutes for me, but surprised it breaks for anyone else.

!!!!!!!!!!! Stupid random 3 second lag bursts. What is causing this?

Lag as in your internet connection, or Mudlet is frozen and you can't type anything?

I'd recommend posting Mudlet issues on the Mudlet forums, that's where Mudlet devs are.

Mine is Mudlet freezing, cant type. not lag. Its most common when launching the client, because the instant defenses overload it

I think it mostly happens when I have a lot of lines in my buffer. What is a safe number? (Also, like Mudlet is frozen and I am unable to enter anything for a few seconds, then a bit of catchup spam. It seems to just happen rarely.)

yeah when I connect, and automatically defup. As tesha pointed out, its the catchup spam. If I try and enter anything during that, then it freezes. Other times, its just random. Could be my big profile

Mudlet handles any number of lines. It's your computer that might not, though! Perhaps the lag is because you ran out of memory and the computer is taking time moving unused things from the memory on your harddrive (swap).

To see if that's the case, look at the hardware icon (usually looks like a little cylinder) icon on your computer / laptop if is lit up during the freeze.

@Vadimuses Hmm not sure I have one of those icons. Is it on the screen or near the keyboard on the laptop?

It's on the case of the computer. Should be like a little, 3d cylinder, also maybe has a light for your wifi card status, power, etc.

Yeah dont have it, light for my wifi is on the keyboard on my wifi toggle key. I have no other lights

One laptop I've got it has them on the front, where you really can't see them at all.
