Mapping Problem.

Regarding the recent change to room names whenever you move indoors.. for example:

Steaming pool within the Dragonspire (indoors). (Oops, we're lost)

--- Area 150: The Parthren Gare -------------

This prevents Rakon's Mudbot from recognizing the room name and stops the mapper for all indoor rooms.  I was wondering if gagging "(indoors)" allow the mapper to function properly again? As in, does gagging completely remove the word "(indoors)" from the prompt or colours the word so it blends into the background?

A client side gag is unlikely to solve the problem, as the gag happens in the client after MUD output is passed from Mudbot.

I could be wrong, however, I suspect the mapper script running in Mudbot will require a minor fix.

A fix is commited. Sadly Rakon doesn't host the mudbot anymore, so we need to find another way. Contact Lynara meanwhile, she can give you a link to the most current version.

I've been thinking about where to put the whole source. There is a repository on launchpad for the mapper itself, but the mudbot wasn't modified enough to put effort into an own repository. I've been changing the mudbot lately and I might set up a repository for it too. Or I'll integrate it into the vadi-mapper branch. I'm not sure yet, which is the best way.

And I am not used to github :P I'm still not sure how many people still use the mudbot and how many people use the mapper with the old vadi-m. Both are factors that influence which form the repository will take on.

Hmm, I still use Mudbot. For some reason, I prefer it's design over the Mudlet mapper.

I got the Mapper when I bought Vadi-M a while back and still plan on using it with SVO. Has there been any progress with this? It now makes sense why the Mapper cuts out every time I go indoors.

Sorry for the late reply, it's been a busy weekend... There has been progress. We are currently hosting the mapper on mudbot.weebly.com Use the 'essential' package if you're on vadi-m (take the dll), otherwise download the version appropriate for your OS.

And for the record: there is now a launchpad branch for the mudbot in the vadi-mapper project.

I downloaded the mapper from there, and I'm getting an error when I start up my worlds.

[Mudbot]: Curl error (Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates) happened. Try downloading the file again?

Looks like libcurl on windows can't use the builtin certificate store. I will disable the verification, since we don't send any login information, just a tiny plain text file. I'll let you know here when the update is on the site.

We have fixed Windows and Mac versions online now. Linux could take a little more time since we are still working on the logistics for those.

ETA: Oh and let the core regenerate your config again. We changed the location of the version file, so make sure it points to the correct one after the update.
