Bardic Theme: "The Fallen Gods"

I know I'm ignorant on this, and my apologies, but can someone define this for me and/or point to some lore?

Does it mean Gods that have died or Gods that have become mortal? I'm not as strong on lore as I should be. Even a starting point link with a definition would be awesome.

It's referring to the Gods that died during the recent (well, ended 3 rl months ago) mega event: The War of the Worldreaver (Bal'met).
