You'd think it'd turn into an Orwellian thing, but I think it's telling that the potential for abuse has always existed and, in over an RL decade, has never been made real.
Until Aminah was excommunicated and targossas griefed her out of the game.

Don't smear an entire faction because of your unwillingness to alter your play style. You want to be a faction class? Fine, join that faction or be a no-name rogue. The line was very clearly drawn, particularly so in regards to Cyrenians. As an Ashtani at the time,  observing from afar, even I had the common sense to know you needed to choose a side.

If you're an excommunicated priest, Targossas has made their decision in regards to you.  I highly doubt there was griefing to be has after that.
  • Oh no. It wasn't Aodfionn. It was troll forcing Aminah to use devotion, not letting her leave the city, toteming nirvana against her. It wasn't fun to play against, so I just let her go dormant and I am enjoying playing someone else much more.
  • JonathinJonathin Retired in a hole.
ok then. If you're so happy playing as someone else, stop derailing the thread please.
I am retired and log into the forums maybe once every 2 months. It was a good 20 years, live your best lives, friends.
  • Thread was already derailed. Stay mad I guess.

Although with multiclass, Aminah could come back! lel
  • SO! Back on the multiclass wagon.

Since I did a multiclass to runie, does STR affect damage vs mobs? Or is it just weapon stats.
  • Strength will affect bashing damage, but only for non-Battlerage attacks.
  • mmm, runie.

    mmm. level 3 bastard sword.

    mmm, strength.

  • I don't know if it's been asked before, but is it really necessary to deactivate basic tattoos when switching between classes? Boar, moss, and moon all turned themselves off.

I actually suspected they would and have checked every time I changed class since they introduced multiclass, and so far they haven't been doing that (including five minutes ago).

Off the top of my head, is it possible you logged in sitting down? That'll cause tattoos not to activate on login.
Current scripts: GoldTracker 1.2, mData 1.1

Okay, strange. Mine did. Maybe that was picking up the class at first?

Adding annoying little things like that seems a bit pointless, if it's a one off that's fine.

My tattoos have never deactivated upon class-change.

Yes, I recall all defences going away, including tattoos, when a new class was first picked up.
  • Oh good, that's not so bad.

It'd be nice if the class change wait timer went away when you only had one class, makes testing a very slow process. Ah well, 8 hours to wait till I can have a class again.

Change cool down should scale with % of abilities in the class you changed to.  Tritrans is 8 hours, bitrans is 5ish, single is 2 1/2, none in instant.
  • Class change cooldown without artie should be half of what it is right now. 6 hours -> 1 hour is more than worth the purchase while not making someone feel like they have to choose one class for a day.

This situation does bite a little. I don't know if I'll ever fully go for multi class, so I don't want to buy the artie.

    Available class slots:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Primary:                 Serpent
    Slot 2:                  (Empty)           (** Current **)
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You have used a total of 1 of your available 2 slots.
You may switch class again in 6 hours, 52 minutes, and 38 seconds.

Which basically means... I can't hunt, can't practise combat, can't do much at all. May as well qq for 6 hours. I guess I should be vacuuming anyway. Damn you achaea, making me do the right thing...

@Valkyn you could try doing an ISSUE ME to see if you can get it reset early.

Thought I'd do my best to help someone avoid vacuuming.
  • Not a big enough deal, I can wait! I'm sure the admin have a lot more legitimate issues to deal with in the wake of multiclass.

I guess the intention of being able to switch to an empty class slot is to then go and select a class for that slot. However, for people like myself, who have a number of empty slots, it seems dangerous. Here's a suggestion: You don't need to switch to an empty class slot to select a new class to go into that slot, and you cannot select an empty slot. The number of available (empty) slots is shown as a single number, eg You have 1 available slot for a new class.

With the way things are currently coded, it'd probably just be easier to make it so switching to/from an empty slot class has no cooldown, whereas switching to/from a slot with a chosen class does.

And be known in its aching                                                      Though quaking

swapping to an empty slot should not trigger the cooldown from my understanding. @Valkyn, file an issue or a bug about it.
Aurora says, "Tharvis, why are you always breaking things?!"
Artemis says, "You are so high maintenance, Tharvis, gosh."
Tecton says, "It's still your fault, Tharvis."

I went bard briefly to test something, but upon quitting was stuck with no class. I don't think it's a bug, just not really ideal to end up in a situation with nothing.
