Connection receiving but not sending?

So the last couple of days, I've noticed a weirdness with Achaea (and after just now, I'm pretty sure that it's just Achaea, everything else on my Internet connection seems to be working fine). It was first when I was bashing, probably because that's spammier than most and I notice if I'm suddenly not hitting anything, but now it seems to be extending to other stuff as well. I'll be wandering along at my usual connection speed, when suddenly the ping spikes extremely high, then goes back down (can last for 2s, can last for 22s).

During that time and for a little while after, I am still logged in, I can see conversations in my chat window, time passes, people react and walk past and so on. But I cannot send anything. Not an attack, not movement, not talking on channels, anything. I'm still logged in, I just can't do anything.

Just had it happen now (commands included to note how much I was trying to actually have the command go through):

So despite spamming "se" like crazy to try and leave the room, I was completely incapable of, well, moving. At all.

Additionally, on several occasions now I've been disconnected as a result of this happening. Not just "out but still logged in" (as if it was a client bug), but completely out, so when I come back my herbs, corpses etc. are all on the ground. It's as though Achaea is eating all my commands. Sometimes it will spam them at me all in a group, sometimes it just eats them, sometimes I get disconnected.

Is this a Mudlet problem? Internet connection? Or something else?

    Apparently a bunch of Australians and others in our general area are having similar latency issues. One second it'll be fine, 300ms ping or thereabouts, and then there will be a spike. Can be as short as a second, or as long as twenty or thirty.

    Very unpleasant!

    I'm guessing there's a hop somewhere between us Pacific-ers and Achaea where something is going awry.

    I've observed lag playing Achaea late at night (PST) for about a week now in a similar way. It's not as pronounced, but there is definitely a choppiness between inputting commands and them going through. Internet fine. Not on Mudlet. Seems to mostly only happen after midnight. If there is an issue, I'm seeing a more mild version of it on the US West coast.

    That sounds more or less like what I'm getting, though it's pretty weird (usually if I'm getting lag I get nothing then a sudden burst of stuff going through, while here I'm still seeing everything happen as it happens, like watching channels and discussions in real time, I just can't do anything to speak on them). Just now I got dc'd while trying to move two rooms to the west in Azdun, and logged back in to find that I'd somehow moved two rooms while logged out.

    Yeah I had an issue within the last hour where I seemed to be getting updates - someone was talking in the room, and I was seeing line after line appear, but none of -my- commands were going through - and then 20 seconds later they all did.

    Makes it very difficult to do much of anything, given the seemingly random nature of it.

    Same problem here in Singapore. Though probably not as bad as the Aussies are getting it.

    was doing the same thing for me from melbourne australia and then I got booted and can't reconnect. Having no issues with forums or main website though
