  • @Jhaeli oh my goodness, congratulations! She's absolutely beautiful! Now I want another because of how adorable babies are... then I look at my son playing Castle Crashers and my daughter slamming doors and think "uh, maybe not."

Joining the previous posters: congratulations Jhaeli! Totally awwww!
  • What a sweet baby. Luckily there was no Bal'met event happening when she was arriving or it would be weird thinking of Bal'met while giving birth to her.

Military hat with skull/crossbones, pipe with confederate-esque flag.

You're either lying to everyone or you need to consider your purchases more carefully.

If you zoom in, you can clearly see there are no stars on the pipe carving.  As for my visor cap, yes it is Reichsfuhrer era 1920, which is  a historical interest of mine.

  • You can understand where they are coming from though, right? Common cliched pirate flag (jolly roger) is far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, more recognisable then the original flown cross (we have no flag). Both confederate and original pirate flags bear very, very close resemblence of the Cross of Burgundy.

Yes, I can. However, I think we've suitably determined that it is not in fact a confederate flag.

  • The proximity of that knife to your thumb makes me feel several shades uncomfortable.

  • Considering the direction of the knife, the worst that's likely to happen is she'll cut her finger.

Unrelated, but I swear we grew that kind of potato on our allotment back home. They were delicious.

Something strange I have come across in Asian classmates is the bizarre conviction that wounds to the eye are not serious.

I do not know what it is, but every time I have watched a movie/played a game where someone was stabbed in the eye or whatever, most of us would wince but there has always been one guy who goes 'It's just his eye.'

There is a scene in Dead Space where someone gets a syringe inject into his eye, and my friend gave those of us who winced a baffled look and said "It's just his eye."

This has happened every year for the past six years (with a different person saying it each time to a different movie/game) but it is really starting to weird me out.
This seems like the place for something about Apollyon and Mhaldor being Asian. I'm not managing to come up with anything funny, though.
  • Maybe exposure to eye-screams from Asian horror movies has dulled our horror at eye-based injuries.

tbh i've seen someone jabbed in the eye and it's not that bad.

I actually have to agree. I've seen it happen and it's not that bad...because it's wasn't my eye :)
