so far, I enjoy my job. Ripped open finger aside, I do like it. I work with like-minded people, and my buddy. It's... I don't even know how to word it, it's just nice.
Found out I got 15% off my dinner when I read my receipt as a "just because" from the server. Secretly think he has a crush on me. Not even mad at all. I'll take a discount any day!
Grading for the winter semester is done!!! Hello, 5 weeks off from work.
Fireplace roaring (on the TV - thank you Hulu), holiday music playing, tree glowing, a 1000-piece Santa puzzle waiting, cookies baking: Yeah, it's starting to feel a lot like Christmas.
While the incident that brought it about isn't something to rave about, the current hastag going about social media at the moment, is something rave worthy, restoring my faith in humanity and the aussie attitude. #illridewithyou

@Sybillasent me lovely Christmas gifts and they arrived in the mail today! I cannot wait to have a cup of this tea. She was even so wonderful as to send my munchkin something. Achaea might have its issues, but I have made some amazing friendships and feel tremendously lucky. Thanks Syb!
Sometimes, when I get sad about being an adult and having work and responsibilities and a job, I go out and buy dessert. Cheesecake, pudding, jello. Just something kinda cheap that I can make really quickly. Just to remind myself that, yes, I might be an adult, but damn it that means I can eat dessert whenever I want to.
I'm not sure if this is a rave, but dealing with the Achaean ID system (vials!) has helped me read and remember six digit numbers (SMS login codes for example) much easier.
I've been home for the holidays, enjoying the usual Christmas present wrapping, decorating trees and hallways, and festive card-writing.
Still, I didn't truly realise I was homesick until few portions of the family begun to visit. We drove to this warehouse on the outskirts of town owned/run by an Italian, and it was just full of all the traditional foods and brands from my childhood. As I was looking through the aisles, the owner came out (a man I barely know) and, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, we exchanged kiss-on-both-cheeks as he said "Buon Natale, bella!" That was just perfect, I really needed some friendly contact to remind me that it's not all stiff-upper-lip and firm handshakes in rainy England.
Icing on the cake was when mum asked me to get her card from her wallet - my elder brothers have 3 kids all together, so there's always some baby photo in there, but this time none of my nieces or nephew featured, only a picture of me in graduation garb. #feelsgoodman

2nd week at my new job and it's fantastic. I had my first week review last week and was told that they were so happy with my progress that by Wednesday last week they had me solving issues, resolving incidents and calling customers. My manager said that usually never happens. It's normally by the three weeks mark before they let anyone start closing incidents.
My department manager came around today to wish everyone a merry Christmas as she is going on leave and she came to me and said that I've been doing phenomenally and she couldn't be happier with me.
And looking at resolved incidents, I've closed the 3rd highest this week, which according to them is amazing for someone on their second week.

First: Awesome speed on customisation requests coming back. I submitted 2 within 10 minutes of each other and they were both approved within 3 minutes of being submitted. Absolutely astounded. (Pretty sure they didn't even review the second one. 40 seconds)
Second: Tradeskill split. It's awesome. People are freaking out left and right about their lessons being worth less or losing something they already have despite being told they'll be pretty close to perfectly compensated.
These people, often volunteers, have been working their asses off to put out this interesting new dynamic to the game. People are overreacting about the split. "Oh, I need -two- skills to secrete venoms?" No...you only need one. I'm sure it's not required to only use the items -you- gathered to make the venoms. Calm down.
Friday I caught up with some friends from my old workplace for a couple of drinks, along with another friend whom I'd been interested in for a little bit now. Well, the work friends ended up leaving and my other friend and I continued on to another bar. After nursing what turned out to be a really horrible drink for about 2 hours, we left. Neither of us wanted to go home, so, at around 3am, he made the suggestion, how about we go to the beach and watch the sunrise. While waiting for the sun to rise, we talked, laughed and talked some more. As the sun rose above the cloud cover, we decided that it couldn't have made for a better official first date. Turns out he'd been interested in me for a bit too but we were both to nervous to come right out and say it. The excitement of it was so much, I didn't care that I hand't slept and spent almost 40 hours straight awake. Merry Christmas indeed

I dunno about classy, but definite food-coma inducing.
I don't even..
I give up
Maybe @Herenicus could give me some advice.
Who's going to order me pizza since I'm broke and sitting at home, alone?
Sister got married. Walked down the aisle to her husband playing her their song.
They played it after during the reception, and I realized it was a country version of "Gin and Juice". My sister is awesome and so is her husband.

Curses, my vacation is over!
What will I do now?!
I'm very happy to have a job again. It's a small company. Literally three of us and instead of a slow christmas, they have some work set up so yay!
I won't say what it is but... Greatness Awaits.
They brought the bear back
BUT they took my suggestion and moved him about a foot over!
Yay!

Well done, staff. Rave to you all.
