You chant your prayers to the sea spirits, and the obsidian pillars that encircle you begin to thrum in response.
The waves pound with increasing force at the base of the outcropping, leaping higher and higher until they clear the edges, smashing into you with brutal force and drenching you. As you stagger, barely managing to stay upright, you see that the indented basin upon the obsidian altar has pooled with seawater. As the seawater drains away from the basin, the eyes of a fearsome dragon figurehead gleam with an alien sentience, consecrated by the sea spirits.
You drop to one knee.
You say with a Theran accent, "Lord Neraeos, thank You for the blessing of passage through Your domain for this figurehead. By Your grace has my crew seen our ship safely here, and by Your grace I pray we return to shore safely."
You pick up a fearsome dragon figurehead.
---
Striding to the tip of the ship's bow, you carefully mount a fearsome dragon figurehead to the ship, whispering a prayer to the sea spirits. A peculiar warmth passes through the figurehead to your hands, and its eyes flare with light momentarily.
You stride to the tipmost of the ship's bow and reach out to place your hands upon the ship's figurehead. Throwing back your head and closing your eyes, you focus and send your energy flowing into a fearsome dragon figurehead, willing it to merge with your very soul.
Warmth cascades through your fingers, the tingling building to a crescendo of sensation until at last, you feel your psyche meld with a fearsome dragon figurehead. You feel waves and wind pound against you as if you were the ship itself, a vast awareness filling your mind. A multitude of shimmering scintilla cascade down the wooden figurehead, its carved eyes suddenly aglow with awareness.
A fearsome dragon figurehead gleams with renewed power.
The first flight of The Silver Sparrow was a success, and Synthus has now successfully captain'd his way to Zaphar and back. This was the only thing I could picture in my head the entire time though.

2021/4/05/17:55 // Just as a minor bit of insanity, I wanted to note that you're doing a fantastic job in your new role! This has really got people riled up, and you're playing the role super well. Keep up the good work!
Heart eyes. This is the first actual compliment I've gotten from a Cyrenian with all this.
The swarm is made up of considerable numbers, being made up of rank upon rank of loudly buzzing bees. The thought of what these creatures could do once roused sends a brief shiver down your spine.
A swarm of bees almost glows with nearly god-like power.
I had logged in on my phone to read a letter, then had to go grab my laptop, when I realized the phone would not do.
@Synthus@Adrik@Liena@Truax , really really interesting RP and developments. Even if it makes things more and more difficult, it's definitely not boring. I have no idea what's planned or pulled from thin air, or what will come from it all, but, great job. It's an exciting and scary ride.
And I learned today, don't even think of logging in until I've had the first cup of coffee.
How long does it take to cover The Mythos from start to finish, even if you're paraphrasing and have condensed notes on hand to reference that you spent a week writing out beforehand?
Three hours. Three. Full. Hours.
@Esti you da real MVP for fielding my discussion exam.
Make sure to battlefury focus speed before you hit, I remember Verdell had some weird results on his DPS calculations because he didn't know speed applied to slaughter too.
The balance recovery doesn’t slow you down unless a faster balance ability would also one shot on the same crit level.
This is not the case in almost all situations. Because of the sheer raw power of each slow hit, 2h can one shot things at lower crit levels than other classes can at HIGHER crit levels.
That said, to truly make 2h competitive with THE BEST, you almost certainly need a maya figurine. So much of your damage is wasted in overkill as 2h.
@Eryl I have both crit paragons, basically perma-lucky, clouded glass lily, Maya figurine, L3 pendant, and membership crit bonus. I think the only thing I'm missing is reincarnating to be a human. I don't think I can bring myself to give up double celerity bonus, though.
Then either you’re not focusing speed, or you are too hung up on the feeling of the slow balance equating to a slow clear speed! I had to physically time myself to prove to myself my 2h clears were timely before I could shake the “uggghhhh this is so slow” feeling.
Then you feel like an absolute god when you instakill four sidhe in a row with crit-maya carry-crit-maya carry and wonder how you lived before your new life.
Look. I know this is a very valid strategy.. but @Makarios can you PLEASE look into the lag that is generated from this. I entered room, lagged, and was dead within 3 seconds. I got to do NOTHING during those three seconds besides go from full health, to burst, to truedead.
No other interaction in the game lags the servers or players as consistently as this singular attack does.
Why must any discussion about stacked room damage be prefaced by "I know this is a very valid strategy"?
The presence of arc with self heal that (still) scales significantly with people in room, along with vengeance horribly skews the balance of room damage engagements towards Mhaldor. This factional advantage is magnified and speeded by the room damage abilities that are available to all players (crucible, maisma).
Lag aside, this is ridiculous and needs to be looked at. While I can appreciate the need for something to balance the fact that Mhaldor is often outnumbered, this positive feedback loop quickly becomes unbalanced when numbers are even, not to mention when Mhaldor has a numbers advantage.
Something that so heavily punishes you for having people present who can't tank the initial burst (thereby dieing, compounding damage your team is taking and healing the infernals) is and will continue to be absurd.
I suspect the justification for arc+agony invest is along the lines of "arc/vigour used to exist and arc/hands still exists". However, those abilites were designed before the wide availbiltiy of additional room damage sources and are similarly problematic if used in the same way.
I think this will be an interesting test of the more diverse org representation in ACC.
And in the interest of trying to contribute something positive instead of whinging, how about making "damage on death" abilities like miasma, crucible, vengeance only proc on deaths caused by single target abilities? This would at least slow the incoming damage to the point where the opposing team can actually respond.
Vengeance has been nerfed pretty hard, and is almost never the reason you lose. Crucibles/Guises are a much bigger part of it, but also not the full picture.
I'd say a pretty big reason we lose is because we can't lean on 1 attack to hit everyone in the room during a 6 second lag spike that kills most everyone bar the heavily armoured (See: Infernals with extra health regen).
I just want the lag addressed so that there's actually some ability for counterplay once we're in the blender.

Delayed double (triple?ugh)
I have discovered a vital piece of information pertaining to the Chenubis card.
It only works on Sapience and does not work on Meropis...
Four sharks and a cyclone later, I am back on the mainland and now wiser for the adventure. I'll take a token next time.
By the authority of Titania, the Dryad Queen, you are named High Warden of Nature.
You just received message #9106 from Achaea.
that pilgrimage was so long and I am so sorry it took like 2 hours.
LOL... Welcome to Hell!
j/k .
Congrats.
FFS this mobile nonsense can't even not double post.
AAAHHHHHHHH I did a post thing/letter sending, and I'm shaking, and literally a little scared of what people's reactions will be
I'm hoping resting from the game a little will help me clam my nerves, and people a chance to chew on their thoughts.
This is the the first time Rys has done an outspoken thing like this, and I'm still shaking.

Hold up, did you fake this message like you faked that letter the other day? :P
The swarm is made up of considerable numbers, being made up of rank upon rank of loudly buzzing bees. The thought of what these creatures could do once roused sends a brief shiver down your spine.
A swarm of bees almost glows with nearly god-like power.
He has 100% health remaining.
He weighs about 125 pounds.
He is loyal to @Twilight .
You see nothing in it.
Okay, first off. 125 pounds of bees. This amount of bees weighs literally as much as Petunia.
Secondly.
@Adrik
A single bee weighs . 00025 pounds.
4,000 bees together weigh only one pound.
There are approximately 500,000 bees in that swarm.
In a full hive, there are usually around 30-60,000 bees. Dat's a lot of bees.
Would be more terrifying if it was hornets.
Disappearing from Achaea for now. See you, space cowboy.

I got to spend nearly 2000cr to find out 2h is definitely slower at bashing than DWC :)
Glad I bought the insignia and extra sword. I just won't use it for speed bashing.
2h is not slower than dwc... 😐️
It's literally the 3rd best bashing in the game, behind only int monk and serpent. Not counting Arash BM bc that is sketch.

Make sure to battlefury focus speed before you hit, I remember Verdell had some weird results on his DPS calculations because he didn't know speed applied to slaughter too.
Also use fury when you know you won’t be wasting a lot of it. If a whole area is up, pop fury and realize just how much strength scales your damage!
Edit: mobile double post wheeeee
@Kog I'll give that a try
@Eryl I one-shot most everything pretty often, it's balance recovery that's slowing overall area-clearing down
The balance recovery doesn’t slow you down unless a faster balance ability would also one shot on the same crit level.

about 6 seconds of lag from me starting up earring, to landing in. I got about 3 inputs in for the total 6 seconds.
